I was honored to stop by the Monday Night Huddle to speak with a great group of black business leaders in Henderson this evening. I enjoyed our robust discussion about how we can continue to partner together to strengthen our economy, expand access to education and quality mental healthcare, and how to make Nevada a place of opportunity for all.

As your Governor, I’m fighting to strengthen Nevada’s energy independence and deliver relief at the pump. I was proud to create the Fuel Resiliency Committee to strengthen our fuel supply and make Nevada more energy independent. I’m committed to pursuing every opportunity to make Nevada more resilient and affordable. Today they released a series of recommendations aimed at accomplishing just that. Part of their recommendations includes supporting projects like the Western Gateway Pipeline and proposed expansions which will help bring more fuel into the UNEV pipeline system. These projects will reduce our reliance on California refineries and protect Nevada families and businesses from supply disruptions and rising costs. Strengthening our fuel supply takes real infrastructure, investment, and leadership willing to plan. Aaron Ford has refused to acknowledge these efforts and is playing politics with Nevada’s gas prices. He has prioritized securing his endorsement from Gavin Newsom rather than blame California’s extreme regulatory and climate agenda for rising fuel costs. Grateful for Democratic DA Steve Wolfson’s support and our years of bipartisan work together to keep Nevada safe. Steve knows the truth about Ford’s record in office: “His office does very little.” While Ford traveled around the world for 420+ days on a taxpayer-funded salary, I showed up every day to do the job. Ford wants a promotion without doing the work, and he continues to misrepresent his record as tough on crime.
