I will save this thread inshallah for anyone who wants to know why we as Muslims are harsh against shirk (associating partners with Allah) ☝🏽
Good question and I’m happy to answer it. Once the certainty and appreciation for what Allah has done for us (created us superior to everything else on earth, blessed us with families and beautiful foods of different varieties, landscapes of all sorts etc) -

Abdullah ibn Ja‘far reported that the Prophet seated him behind him one day and confided something he was not to disclose. The Prophet preferred a mound or a cluster of date palms for privacy when relieving himself. He entered the garden of an Ansari man, where there was a camel. When the camel saw the Prophet, it moaned with a yearning sound and tears flowed from its eyes. The Prophet approached it, wiped the sides of its head, and it became quiet. He asked, “Who is the owner of this camel? Whose camel is this?” A young Ansari man said it was his. The Prophet replied: “Do you not fear Allah regarding this animal which Allah has placed in your possession? It has complained to me that you keep it hungry and overburden it.”

Alhamdulillah for Allah’s guidance to Islam. I thank Allah that He guided me to recognize that the Qur’an and Sunnah, understood upon the way of the first generations of Islam, is the correct and pure path. As the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best of people are my generation, then those who come after them, then those who come after them.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 2652; Sahih Muslim 2533) I thank Allah for this guidance in a time of so much confusion, when many Muslims are allowing the news, politics, and whoever happens to be fighting their perceived enemies to shape their understanding of the religion. Alhamdulillah, I don’t determine the truth based on political movements, personalities, or whatever is trending in the media. I return to the Qur’an and the Sunnah and may Allah pardon my shortcomings and grant me firmness. We have seen people attack our scholars and people of knowledge, calling them wahabis, Madkhalis and other names. But as we know, name calling is not a refutation. Alhamdulillah, when they cannot refute the people of knowledge with knowledge, they resort to labels and name calling instead. Knowledge is answered with knowledge, evidence with evidence not insults and labels. I thank Allah for guiding me toward understanding the religion of Islam. As the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever Allah intends good for, He gives him understanding of the religion.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 71; Sahih Muslim 1037) May Allah guide me and every Muslim to the truth, keep us grounded and firm upon it, increase us in beneficial knowledge, protect us from being led by our desires or political loyalties, and forgive us for our shortcomings and May Allah grant us all a good ending.

Ibn ʿUthaymeen: So when the heart becomes stripped, Allah forbid, of judging by the Qur’an and Sunnah, the Qur’an in its eyes becomes merely “the tales of the former peoples,” and the Sunnah, in its eyes, becomes nothing more than the opinions of men, Allah forbid. The Sharīʿah, in its eyes, becomes the law of an age that has passed. This is what is found today among many Islamic nations: they abandon the Qur’an and Sunnah and rule according to the opinions of created beings, even though the opinions of created beings are limited. First: because a created being cannot possibly encompass all the interests and welfare of creation, neither across all times nor across all places. Second: even if we were to suppose that he could encompass them, he would only encompass what lies within his own surroundings and those around him. But what about those who are far away from him? And if circumstances change, would he know what is beneficial for people? Never. Therefore, there is no doubt about the misguidance of those who judge by laws established by the French, the English, the Americans, or the United Nations, while abandoning the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger. Among the laws of the United Nations, may Allah not establish its law, is the notion that a person is free in his opinions, free in his creed, free in his morals, and free in his actions: he may disbelieve, he may say whatever he wishes, and no one may interfere with him; he may commit indecency and be immoral, and no one may interfere with him. —sharḥ al-kāffiyyah 4/466

If Al-Firdaws, the highest level of Paradise, whose ceiling is the Throne of the Most Merciful, can be attained through supplication (du'a), then why do you worry about a wish in this worldly life that, with Allah, is not worth the wing of a mosquito?

A Duaʾ the Prophet ﷺ Told His Companion Never to Leave The Prophet ﷺ said to Anas ibn Mālik (radiyallahu ʿanhu): "O my son, if you are able, never leave saying this every morning and every evening." Yā Ḥayyu Yā Qayyūm, biraḥmatika astaghīth, aṣliḥ lī sha'nī kullah, wa lā takilnī ilā nafsī ṭarfata ʿayn.
