I’m looking for the next step, and the opportunity to do good and support my family financially.
So after a lot of reflection, I’m putting this out to my network of 5,000+ followers.
I’m looking for a full-time role in Edinburgh or elsewhere in fact id consider travelling and moving anywhere in the world if I felt it would be the right fit. Maybe where I can use my experience in community development, education, youth work, engagement, training, inclusion, advocacy and lived-experience leadership.
Granted I do bring a slightly unusual CV.
I’ve worked for the City of Edinburgh Council in Community Arts, securing funding and creating opportunities for children who otherwise may never have had access to music, instruments and the arts.
I later worked in Additional Support for Learning, directly supporting young people with a wide range of additional needs. I developed training programmes, delivered in-service days and conferences, and represented Edinburgh Council at national the Scottish goverment at international events.
I’ve also spent years as a public speaker, using my lived experience to help professionals understand poverty, care experience, trauma, inclusion and resilience.
I’ve appeared on BBC Newsround and STV, featured in the STV Children’s Appeal documentary Breaking the Cycle alongside Darren McGarvey, appeared in the award-winning film Mum’s Birthday, and was selected as one of just 12 Commissioners on the Edinburgh Poverty Commission.
My strengths are:
• Public speaking & communication
• Community engagement
• Youth participation
• Training & facilitation
• Project development
• Grant funding & opportunity development
• Working with children & young people
• Additional support needs & inclusion
• Lived-experience leadership
• Advocacy & campaigning
• Building relationships across organisations
• Turning difficult experiences into
I’m looking for an organisation that can see what I can bring to the table.
I’ve experienced adversity, rebuilt my life, made mistakes, learned from them and continued to help other people along the way.
I’m ready to put all of that experience, energy and determination into the right organisation.
If you know of a role where you think I could make a genuine difference — particularly in local government, education, charities, community development, youth work, participation, policy, inclusion or public engagement — please DM me or tag someone who might be able to help.
I’m ready for my next chapter.
I will give you my absolute all.
Reposts will be genuinely appreciated as will anything you can quote alongside.
Me and my family thanks you.

New paper in @DiabeticMed highlights a molecule that may help protect insulin-producing cells in type 2 diabetes. 📊
The study offers new insights into the processes involved when these cells gradually lose their ability to make enough insulin.

Still feeling the impact of an unforgettable Breakthrough T1D UK @BT1DUK Discovery Day in #Belfast 💙
Saturday was everything these events are about: people coming together, sharing stories, learning side‑by‑side and reminding one another that no one should ever have to navigate #T1D alone.
The venue was filled with honesty, warmth, laughter and true community spirit. Huge thanks to our inspiring speakers for giving so much of themselves and their time. And to everyone who shared their lived experience so generously - your voices are the heartbeat of this community.
From open Community Conversations to shared learning across the event, every room reflected the warmth and connection that make this community so special 🫶🏻
Massive thanks as well to our brilliant volunteers, partners and Breakthrough T1D team who made the day so welcoming from the moment people arrived, and to the Bukhman Foundation for supporting a space built on connection, community, learning and hope.
Belfast - what a city. Until next time… 💙
