So runaway capitalism gave us the empty store shelves they warned would happen under socialism, but instead of getting free health care or parental leave all we got was record corporate profits and billionaires doubling their net worth.

Chipotle is a public company. Their CEO made $38 million in 2020. They literally doubled their profit margin by raising prices during a pandemic. They made $200 million… in three months. Fuck off, Robert.

I've noticed a marked increase in fast food prices, while at the same time more card readers prompt me to add a tip. If I didn't know better I'd think corporations are using the pandemic as an excuse to raise prices while not sharing those profits with employees.

This isn’t an issue of inflation, or employment cost, it’s companies like Chipotle refusing to face a dip in their billon dollar shareholder profit. Instead of making $3B they could make $2B and keep prices low for the consumer and wages decent for the workers.

If you are asking for a raise, quitting your job for something better, or organizing with a union to demand better pay and working conditions, you are not only helping yourself, you are are being patriotic and helping workers everywhere. And that’s coming from me as a CEO.

Just Saying: Aaron Rogers is protesting in the name of MAGA uninformed anti-vaxxers and keeps his job. Colin Kaepernick protests peacefully for equality and is rejected by the NFL. There is something seriously wrong with American sports society.

It is absolutely wild to me how many people legit think exposing an entire generation of kids to Covid is better than skipping a couple weeks of school.

When students are organizing strikes because they want more Covid protection at school, it might be time to admit that the push for in-person education isn't just about what's best for kids.
