Do you know the meaning of the @NousResearch logo? The girl is called the "Nous Girl". She was drawn in July 2023 by Nous's first artist, who goes by John Galt. Yes, the Atlas Shrugged rebel She stands for the rebellion of decentralized AI, and for keeping our humanity in the face of censorship and machine intelligence The words around her: "Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God." That line goes back to 1776. Jefferson, Franklin and Adams put it on their proposed Great Seal of the United States. Congress said no, so Jefferson put it on his own personal seal instead Nous pointed it at AI. Today's tyrants are closed labs and gatekeepers deciding who gets access to intelligence. The rebellion is open weights, open agents and open infrastructure. That's why I build on Hermes Wearing it proudly 🏴

Ultimately, precompiles and EVM are both the wrong place to put most cryptography support into Ethereum. The reason is that precompiles and EVM both operate on data that has to be included into the ethereum chain somehow, which realistically means included in a block as calldata. That space is limited - even with PeerDAS and blocks-in-blobs, there's a practical cap of ~8 MB/s before it starts getting uncomfortable. Remember: it's not a blockchain. It's a cryptographic world computer. Any data/computation that does not need to be in the "main thread" of data/execution should not be put into the main thread. Instead, the correct solution is... EIP-8288 maximalism. If you have any heavy computation that's self-contained, compute it and STARK it client-side (this is quickly getting faster and faster, even on phones), and push the STARK through the EIP-8288 recursive aggregation mechanism. The chain sees the fact that the computation was done and what the result is; it never needs to see the actual data and computation. This way everyone can use whatever cryptography they want, the Ethereum chain can be lean, and we never need to add more precompiles again.
Replying to @lex_node
> we could still ultimately do Lattice stuff for accounts, wallets, etc. through a precompile if it is proved to be AI-secure The ideal route to support everyone's cryptography is imo through 8288. You make whatever signature you want locally, then STARK it, and then it gets included through the stark aggregator machine. Don't need any calldata onchain. Ethereum can then never add a new precompile again.

just bought the mag 7 on robinhood chain. deployed MAG7 this evening, the first index on bankr: one token backed by a basket of up to 20 tokens. and on MAG7, the trading fees go to the holders. every buy, a uniswap v4 hook buys all 7 stocks from their own pools and mints MAG7. every sell burns MAG7 and sells the basket. one transaction either way. the index itself needs no LP, so creators don’t need to provide liquidity to launch one. it’s already in the pools of the tokens it holds. this isn’t possible without uniswap hooks. the fees: MAG7 charges 0.50% a trade. i set my creator cut to 0, so 0.30% of every buy and sell goes back into the basket for holders, and 0.20% to the protocol. nobody claims anything. it’s released into the basket over 24h, so after every trade each MAG7 is backed by a little more. creators pick a fee of 0.25–1% at launch and it never changes. the index never market-sells when rebalancing. it runs dutch auctions, offering what it holds too much of at a price that starts good for holders and gets cheaper every minute until someone fills it. anyone can fill. every rebalance gets 48h notice, so holders can leave first. you can always swap MAG7 back for the 7 stocks directly. no fee, works without bankr, can’t be paused. i also seeded a small USDG/MAG7 pool on uniswap so it shows up on dexscreener. but buy on bankr. it goes straight through the hook, which mints new MAG7 at the basket’s price, as deep as the 7 stocks’ own pools rather than my small one. hook trades are also the ones that pay holders. if the pool drifts, arbs close the gap. it’s early. we’re getting the hook supported in wallets and aggregators before the full rollout. right now it’s just me creating indexes. soon anyone can make their own on base or robinhood. and then: pairing. you’ll be able to launch a token paired with an index. buying your coin buys the index, the index buys the basket, and your creator fees come in the index. buying MAG7 on bankr isn’t available in the US or UK.

Stonkbrocker's new Paired Tokens look like the old Balancer. yes, exactly like balancer pool tokens (bpts). balancer pioneered turning liquidity pool shares into standard erc-20s so an lp position could double as an automated index fund. holding a 50/50 bpt gave you continuous rebalancing between two assets while earning fees, and because it was an erc-20, you could trade it or use it as collateral elsewhere. the mechanics here are nearly identical in spirit, just rebuilt on uniswap v4 hooks. the main differences: balancer natively supported arbitrary weights (like 80/20) and multi-asset baskets (up to 8 tokens), while these pair tokens are strictly 50/50 two-asset pairs. balancer accrued fees passively inside pool reserves, whereas this hook uses an explicit compound call that skims a 10% fee off swap rewards for buybacks before re-adding liquidity. it is basically bringing the bpt / ETF-style basket model to tokenized equities on robinhood chain, banking on stock splits and dividends adding to the fee compound.
