The Centre has recently made it mandatory for MSMEs engaged in making drugs to follow good manufacturing practices (GMP) at the pharmaceutical manufacturing site.
As a part of the plan, pharma companies having an annual turnover of over ₹250 crore will have to compulsorily follow GMP within six months, while those with a turnover of less than ₹250 crore will have to do so in a 12-month period.
As per the data collected from July 2020 to July 2023 the government’s aim to formalise the MSME sector with the Udyam registration initiative, launched in July 2020, has over 2 crore businesses registered, of which 19.43 per cent were owned by women.
To demonstrate adaptability in the face of changing market conditions, MSMEs need to streamline their base of operations or especially, their warehouses. Implementing warehouse automation technologies can be a catalyst for putting companies on the path towards 100% efficiency.

It’s disheartening and stressful to see lax investigative process. A delay of 2 months is sickening. The worst part is this happens frequently and even after all these years of revolting & making the officials prioritise right things, we still haven’t been able to curb gang rapes
My hearts go out to the two women who were subjected to a deeply disrespectful and inhumane act, as shown in the distressing video that surfaced yesterday. After taking a Suo-moto cognisance of the incident immediately after the video surfaced, the Manipur Police swung to action and made the first arrest this morning.
A thorough investigation is currently underway and we will ensure strict action is taken against all the perpetrators, including considering the possibility of capital punishment. Let it be known, there is absolutely no place for such heinous acts in our society.
The Ministry of MSME has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Association between Udyam and Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises to share data of the registered enterprises on Udyam with the government’s collateral-free loan scheme for MSEs.
A beautifully written article. It has been rightly mentioned that access to capital and credit is a common barrier to expansion for MSMEs. And the lack of collateral and high-interest rates limit an entrepreneur’s ability to expand.
