This is what the holidays look like as a chronically ill person btw 🫂 I had to put on a brave face for two days in a row, still enduring the debilitating chronic fatigue and discomfort from chronic pain that I have daily because chronic illness never takes a day off. Today I am in bed suffering more BECAUSE I had to push myself energetically these last few days. It may not seem like a big deal on the outside, like we are managing well just because we were able to show up and “seem to be doing well!” I actually received a lot of comments on Xmas Eve saying that I looked like I have been doing better - when in reality this year has been the hardest by far. We tend to mask our suffering during times like these. If you have a chronically ill loved one, family or friends, make sure to not only check in on them during this season 🫂 because more often than not we are still struggling and pay for it greatly afterwards. To all my fellow invisibly ill and disabled friends out there - I hope you can find time to recover and just know you’re not alone 🖤
