As I get closer to releasing my book on meaning, language, and how ideas survive transmission, I’ll be using this account to share my non-AI work—essays, writing, and related projects. @putmanmodel will remain home to my tech work, civic issues, and civil-rights advocacy.

What if simulation isn’t about whether reality is fake, but about how we interact with reality at all?
A Practical Simulation Theory — a short visual explainer on model-mediated reality, perception, memory, maps, AI, and continuity.

A home for some of my work on models, meaning, simulation, privacy, governance & human-AI systems.
Six essays/preprints, mirrored on GitHub with their canonical Zenodo DOIs preserved.

A democracy is in trouble when the President becomes “the Commander” rather than an elected official exercising limited authority — just as policing fails when cops start acting like they are justice.

🚀 Authors! Publishing your book is just the beginning, the real success comes when readers discover it. Don’t leave it to chance, DM me to get your book in front of the right readers.
A preview essay from my forthcoming book, The Levain of Logos:
The First Levain: Communication, Transmission, and the Human Drive to Share Meaning
On language, story, models, media, AI, and how meaning survives transmission.

Government may be easier to understand if we start with perception rather than power.
Notice weak signals → interpret patterns → shape responses → govern → observe the consequences.
Federalism then looks like nested observation across scales.

I’m creating a short video explaining A Practical Simulation Theory. It’ll be my first narrated video with animation, so if there are any specific questions you’d like me to address, let me know.
Most Simulation Theory arguments ask whether reality is generated by some higher system.
This paper asks a smaller, practical question:
What if simulation is not only something we might be inside, but something that arises from within reality whenever living beings build models of the world?
Metaphysical Simulation Theory is a creation claim.
Practical Simulation Theory is a mediation claim.
We may or may not live inside a simulation. But we clearly live through models.

Remembering isn't the same as granting authority.
Experience Entry Gate separates associative retention from canonical commitment. Persistence is governed, not automatic.

One of my better-performing essays on Zenodo has been Models, Meaning and Continuity.
The core idea: meaning survives because humans build models — words, records, stories, rituals, institutions, media — that let experience travel across minds and time.

26 unscripted NPC in one scene. The “P” may as well be for “Party.” 🎉
Can’t stop thinking about what this could become with VR/XR + AI gen in the mix.

LLOYD is live.
Not another sentiment model — a tone-drift engine that listens like a human.
Detects symbolic conflict, escalation, and emotional reversal.

Most tone models stop at positive vs negative.
LLOYD starts where others fall short:
💬 Symbolic drift
🔁 Mocked echo
🧠 Memory-weighted escalation
