Dear Subho, Thank you for being a part of #DeSu7! When I decided to take this leap and direct a film for the first time, there was a lot of uncertainty around me. At a time when I wasn’t even being allowed to release a film during the Durga Puja window, you chose to stand beside me and say yes to DeSu7 without even knowing the script, the title or what this film would eventually become. Watching you through this journey has been equally special. I’ve known you for so long, but this film made me realise and appreciate how much you have evolved not just as an actor, but as a person too, balancing your professional and private life so well. To see you grow, evolve and still remain so grounded is truly inspiring. I’m really glad that our journeys, which started around the same time, brought us together for this chapter. If my first film as a director has given me anything beyond the film itself, it is the experience of having people like you believe in the vision even before they knew what the vision was. Thank you for standing by me, trusting me and being a part of this journey. Also, thank you for helping me keep the love and spirit for #DeSu still alive amongst fans even after all these years. I shall remain always thankful to you for believing in me and believing in the idea of #DeSu7. Wishing you all the very best for your life ahead! Love and luck always, Dev. @subhashreesotwe

Bengal has never believed in a culture of hatred. Over the past few days, several altered and manipulated videos of me have been circulated with the intention of defaming and misleading people. I sincerely request everyone not to believe in such false content and also refrain from sharing them further. Deliberate misinformation and character assassination can never be the culture of Bengal. I have full faith in the new government that they will take the necessary steps to ensure that such nuisance and malicious propaganda are stopped. Bengal has always stood for harmony, culture and mutual respect — and I believe it will continue to do so. 🙏
