joanna penn asked how i handle being expected to be on every platform, all the time. what i told her: we are writers, and we should be writing first. the platforms and the tools only earn their place if they buy you time to write. everything else is noise.
my romantic thriller LET ME BE YOUR GHOST comes out november 18, and that line is how it got written.
the whole episode of the creative penn podcast: thecreativepenn.com/2026/10/…
between TV shows, hollywood wanted me back as an assistant and producers wanted rounds of free work. meanwhile NBA players and olympians were flying me out to ghostwrite their memoirs, and paying me better.
that's the job behind my romantic thriller LET ME BE YOUR GHOST, out november 18. from my interview on the business of content with simon owens.
thriller writers walk into a new airbnb and check three things: the exits, the windows, and who else has a key.

quote this with the book you'd hand a stranger on a plane. one title, no explanation. they'll find out.
i'm on the creative penn podcast with joanna penn this week. the first thing she wanted to talk about was one word in my book's title: power.
writers get told we're not allowed to want power over our careers. be a starving artist, be grateful for whatever comes your way. we spent an hour on why that's a lie, and how to take the power back.
ghostwriting memoirs is the job behind my romantic thriller LET ME BE YOUR GHOST, out november 18.

ahhh got my first positive review from a librarian on NetGalley for let me be your ghost! ❤️📕
even though I’ve been writing books for the last few years, I get a bit giddy about the idea of a librarian liking my work enough to include it in their rotation.
the nostalgia of finding some of my favorite books in the library is so real.
brendan o'meara asked me how to get a stuck substack moving, and i gave him the most boring answer on the planet: consistency. when i started three years ago, i published every single week and paid attention to what readers responded to.
a lot of the ARC readers for my romantic thriller LET ME BE YOUR GHOST found me there first. brendan cut my answer into a clip called "the most boring substack advice you'll hear." accurate.
the clip, from episode 550 of the creative nonfiction podcast: youtu.be/lu3zz0x1ndE
