"The Nakba continues until today."
78 years ago today, Huda's father was one of more than 800,000 Palestinians forced from their homes when the state of Israel was created.
Huda's father, Fareed Al-Imam, was forced to seek refuge in Sheikh Jarrah in 1948. But today that neighbourhood is threatened with eviction by the Israeli authorities.

Today people from dozens of groups came together to demand MPs vote against yet another round of anti-protest powers.
The government intends to give police the power to restrict protests based on their so-called ‘cumulative disruption’.
The government has been transparent with this: these powers are being pushed in response to the mass national marches for Palestinian rights.
But this proposed change would impact all of us and our ability to protest, for whatever cause is most important to us.
Our right to protest must be defended. ✊

Heard of Palantir?
Here’s Palantir’s contract with the NHS explained.
A company linked to the Israeli forces’ ongoing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza has NO place in our NHS. NHS trusts can do the right thing and refuse to use Palantir. The time is now. Link in bio to learn more.

Our right to protest must be defended.
Please join Amnesty UK, Palestine Solidarity Campaign and many other groups to defend our right to protest.
The Government has introduced an extreme proposal to give police new powers to restrict protests based on their so-called ‘cumulative disruption’. If this becomes law, the police in England and Wales will be required to consider any past protests or planned future protests in the same ‘area’ when deciding whether to impose restrictions.
The government has been clear: these powers have been brought forward in response to the mass national marches for Palestinian rights. But this proposed change would impact all of us: our ability to protest for women's rights, peace, climate justice, racial justice and equality is under threat.

Jimmy Lai's conviction is a blow to press freedom everywhere.
In Hong Kong, the role of journalism in holding power to account is now treated as a crime.
Jimmy Lai was jailed under the brutal Beijing-imposed National Security Law in Hong Kong.
He is a prisoner of conscience. He should have never been arrested. This sham trial should have never happened.
But the fight doesn't end here.
Together, we must continue to stand for those silenced by oppressive laws. We will not rest until justice prevails. ✊

Are YOU okey with Chinese and Hongkong authorities spying and harassing exiled activists in the UK?
No?
Neither are we.
The UK government is falling short to protect Hongkongers in the UK from this threat to their rights.
We need action NOW. We need a dedicated hotline and a clear, time-bound outreach plan to work with the community.

Palestinian journalists, like @WaelDahdouh, put their lives on the line to record and report Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza.
Over 260 media professionals have been killed* in occupied Gaza since October 2023.
Palestinian journalists have endured starvation, displacement, repeated attacks, and insurmountable loss, including family members. Their bravery, commitment and sacrifices must not be forgotten.
The targeting of journalists is a war crime, and each death must be investigated as such.

Two political prisoners, Manouchehr Fallah and Shahriar Bayat, are at risk of execution in an alarming escalation of the Islamic Republic’s brutal and unlawful use of the death penalty against dissidents and protesters.
👉 Fallah and Bayat were sentenced to death after trials marked by severe due process violations and denial of access to independent legal counsel.
👉 Both men had already received prior sentences, with Fallah having completed his term. The re-examination of their cases with new trumped-up charges and the resulting death sentences reflects a judicial system controlled by a state security apparatus whose only role is to crush opposition.
The international community must take immediate action to demand that Iran cease using executions as a tool of political repression and terror.

Rather than promoting unlawful forcible transfers of an entire people from their land, while reportedly simultaneously lifting the freeze on 2000lb bombs to Israel, President Trump should focus on ensuring that the ceasefire holds, that hostages and detainees can return home safely, that necessary amounts of life-saving aid enters Gaza urgently, and that the deliberate infliction of conditions calculated to bring about the physical destruction of Palestinians in Gaza comes to an end. cnn.com/2025/01/25/politics/…

As Dr. Djalali is a Swedish citizen, the Swedish government has a direct responsibility to protect its own citizens and rally the international community behind Dr. Djalali’s release.

On 27 December 2024, the Israeli military raided Kamal Adwan hospital in Mashrou’ Beit Lahiya and arbitrarily detained its director, Dr Hussam Abu Safiya, along with other medical staff and patients.
The raid put the hospital, the last functioning major medical facility in the North Gaza governorate, out of service. For months, Dr Hussam Abu Safiya has been the most prominent voice of Gaza’s decimated healthcare sector.
Israeli authorities must immediately release him. Pending his release, they must disclose his whereabouts and grant him access to a lawyer and ensure his protection from torture and other ill-treatment, and provide him with adequate healthcare: amn.st/6182akSgY
