Swap Fire, apparently one of the all time best party games for #Nintendo #WiiU! You’ll have to get it on Steam now that the Wii U eShop is closed. #SwapFire #IndieGames #Steam #SteamDeck whatoplay.com/wii-u/best/par…

The Swap Fire launch trailer premieres at 12pm, followed by the launch of the game at 1pm. Get it FREE 11/11 - 12/12 because the name of the game IS the game. Screenshots don’t matter, videos don’t matter, only the game actually matters; so we’re just giving people direct access to it at launch. #indiegame #steam #steamdeck youtu.be/4ohouZpQgLg?si=0EaM…

Swap Fire for Steam launches on Monday 11/11. It’s been 5 months of hard work getting this “preservation port” done but I’m hopeful that the original Nintendo Wii U audience of ~40,000 players can expand thanks to @Steam and @OnDeck. Remember, Swap Fire is FREE from 11/11 - 12/12. Take it for a spin with your friends via Steam Remote Play Together. Have fun and thank you for playing 🙏 #indiegames #indiecomics #swapfire #steam #steamdeck

OK, I finally had a relatively undisturbed block of time yesterday and got SteamInput functional inside the Swap Fire project. I still need to figure out Keyboard and Mouse for multiplayer (Steam Remote Play Together). I will say, this was quite a task as there is very little reference material, considering how big Steam is. However, I’m now not surprised that Steam Remote Play Together hasn’t really moved the needle. Without native SteamInput integration, things go off the rails real quick (controllers stop working or cannot be ordered as desired). But, it’s also clear that very few people have actually done a deep native SteamInput integration with SRPT in-mind. Newcade is my own platform built around this type of functionality but it’s in the forefront rather than being a bolt-on. Also, Newcade is built so no API integration will ever be used. We still have a long way to go with Newcade, but proving the original Swap Fire in the most Newcade-like way on a platform that already has broad distribution will be a big milestone. #screenshotsaturday

The original Swap Fire 🔥 via Steam Remote Play Together is so damn fun! I’ve got some new strategies for Find Buddy 💪 It’s also a huge step up, moving from the Wii U Gamepad to a SteamDeck, that’s a fine piece of hardware! Wishlist the game now, if you know what’s good for ya’! store.steampowered.com/app/3… #SwapFire #Steam #SteamDeck

Well, a SteamDeck should be arriving soon. This will hopefully be the final step in the Swap Fire for Steam saga as far as development and testing goes. We only have around 75 wishlists on the game so I’m not sure this endeavor was worth pursuing financially but I do think spiritually, it’s been very interesting. Most anyone who reads this will likely be scratching their head now, so I’ll just leave you right there! Wishlist the game, if you haven’t already, it’s fast, easy, fun, unique, and you can play with your friends via Steam Remote Play Together. In fact, we’ll be giving the game away until we hit 1,000 Steam Remote Play Together hosts. Afterward. The game will be $9.99. So, you may as well wishlist it, just so you don’t miss out on the free promo! store.steampowered.com/app/3…

David Jaffe (Twisted Metal & God of War) was the guy who inspired me to seek a career in professional game development via his 1997 Sony PlayStation Underground Vol. 1 interview. Back in the day, I sent him a letter, a set of instructions, and a TI-85 Calculator loaded up with the first couple of games I ever made. The package never made it to him but a woman named Lara Dison at Sony told me to go to school for Computer Science, so I took her advice and set about my game development journey. But now, 27 years later, David Jaffe has finally played one of my games AND he digs it! Chalk one up for tenacity ;) Thank you sir 🙏 #screenshotsaturday #indiegames #swapfire #steam #steamdeck
