Took a small break to explore Riyadh and visited the magnificent Al Masmak Fortress with my family. Both parents and kids enjoyed the historical landmark as well as the nearby Souq Al Zal (and yes, we left with a beautiful carpet that will brighten up our new home..).
Pleased to see increases aid from Sweden to Yemen amid escalating humanitarian crisis.
Additional USD 7.5 million is allocated to support life-saving operations through partner organizations in Yemen. The total Swedish humanitarian support to Yemen so far in 2026 adds up to USD 23,5 million, making Yemen the third largest recipient of 🇸🇪 humanitarian support this year.

The EU is following with alarm the situation in Taiz. The EU calls on Houthi forces to lift their siege of the city and allow the entry of food, water, medicines and fuel. Civilians and civilian infrastructure must be protected and partners allowed to deliver essential aid.

The EU condemns in the strongest terms the continuous Houthi strikes on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on civilian infrastructure, including airports.
My thoughts are with the families of those killed and with the many injured.
The EU stands in solidarity with Saudi Arabia and the legitimate government of Yemen.
Attacks on civilian infrastructure violate international law and must stop immediately.

The Houthi attack on Riyadh’s international airport is an appalling act of terror. There can be no justification for indiscriminate attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure.
The EU stands in solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We offer our deepest condolences to the families of those killed, and we wish the injured a swift recovery. I remain in close contact with @FaisalbinFarhan.
EU Foreign Ministers will discuss the escalating tensions in the region on Monday. Enhanced coordination between the EU’s Red Sea naval operation Aspides and the Saudi-led Multinational Maritime Defence Coalition is vital.
