A random question…
Why do so many footballers wear wrist bandages?
I wore a wrist bandage when I broke my wrist when I was about seven.
Have they all damaged their wrists falling off a bike too?
Full away stand with @Official_NCFC fans having travelled a few miles up the A60 to the home of @mansfieldtownfc.
A lovely message to end the week on.
As a celebrant, you do your very best. You try not to make a sad day worse.
You can’t bring a loved one back. You can’t take all the sadness away.
But you can help, if only for a few hours, to give a person a send off they deserve.
The @nationaltrust often comes in for some stick, and has to bat off accusations and activism from those who simply don’t like it.
I have read a lot of criticism.
Anyway, ignoring that crap and have just rejoined.
Keep up the rhubarb scone-fuelled good work.
By god it’s painful watching @ManUtd (and has been for years now).
Got to stick with them but f me, it’s tough.
Wildfires, not funny at all.
But it’s that journalistic approach again that tries to show people the size of something by comparing it to a football pitch.
Thing is, I have no idea what actual size a football pitch is.
And, I’m sure football pitches all vary in size anyway.
Last England match there was a power cut on our road.
Now, it would seem workmen on a nearby main road have cut through a cable and now half the street can’t watch the match.
Bobbed into the 1st Clipstone Scouts Group 100-year anniversary celebration event today. (I’m a local parish councillor and my youngest lad was a scout with the group).
This is lovely news for Jim and Marion. Absolute diamonds.
B@st@rd power cut.
About to settle in to watch the England match (after watching Kirstie and Phil’s Location, Location, Location), and there’s a power cut.
NG18 area of Mansfield.
Anyone else?
Reading about Bangor University & debating societies & “lefty indoctrination”….
I feel I missed out going to Leeds University.
I don’t recall ever being indoctrinated and I don’t think anyone I knew was ever indoctrinated either.
Almost as if we could make our own minds up.
I see the #SuperBowlLX is about to start.
Don’t think I’ve ever watched an American Football game so just read a beginners guide to the main points.
Should be easy to follow, shouldn’t it…?
I hate this way of using the word shop in advertising.
The latest, in an email from Man United.
“Shop the Stone Roses”
Why? What have they done?
Just had a robin fly into the house, sit perched on the bannister for a few minutes, fly around the spare bedroom, pause just a foot away from me for a minute, and then fly out through a window I opened for it.
Was on phone to me dad & told him I’d had earache like no-one ever before, and that he wouldn’t know pain like it.
Then remembered he’s had several cancers, numerous treatments (including having half of his face “ripped off” to remove tumours), and was in hospital three months.
