We have recently started recruiting for On-Call Fire-Fighters again. Looking at current applications, please note that you need to respond to the station in a safe manner within 5 mins. (1/2)
Our RDS crew have been helping out our Wholetime Watch’s a lot recently. We had 4 join White Watch last night and another 3 tonight.

Well done to our 2 new recruits, Andy McKinlay and Willian Valante, who both successfully passed their Basic Slills course last week and attended their first proper drill night last night. Welcome aboard!

We are wasting valuable resources & money attending unnecessary calls regarding irresponsible disposal of BBQ's and out of control Bonfires.
And this also puts the lives of our Fire Fighters at risk responding.
Don't know how we can make it clearer. STOP the BBQ's and Bonfires
Arrived at the station just before 6pm yesterday for a standard drill night. Finally get home at 7:30am this morning. We had 3 minor incidents when providing cover for the area whilst some of our other local crews were assisting our colleagues in the south with the heath fire.
Well done Darryl. If only you found giving your Crew Manager your food choice from the menu for the Watch Christmas meal as easy, hey! 😉
Following on from the Honda exercise last night we had 3 call outs during the night. They were so evenly spread out that my Fitbit shows I had no sleep whatsoever! Going to need a pair of these for work today!

Wiltshire's emergency services are simulating a real-life emergency at Honda’s testing track in Swindon. The car maker’s donated some of its vehicles and there are over a dozen volunteer actors playing casualties that are trapped on a pretend motorway @BBCWiltshire

Is your smoke alarm getting old and tired? Smoke alarms need replacing every 10 years; how old are yours? #FireKills #SmokeAlarms #Outwiththeold
Busy night for us. As well as this incident we had a house fire and then back here for a re-inspection. Now off to work at our main employer and then back to the station tonight for drill night and our annual fitness test!
22:34 - Overnight @SwindonFireStn and @SwindonFireRDS have attended a substantial fire involving a summer house in Old Town, Swindon. Crews used Main Jets and Hose Reel Jets to extinguish. Relief duties also provided by @FireWestlea
A good week for our crew. Carl Tatum, one of our new fire-fighters, passed his BA course and Paul Weaver passed his Level 1 Initial Incident Command course. Brilliant effort gents.
Really enjoyable drill to be part of, thanks.
