hey guys rq PSA for mandarin chinese words in roman letters x = similar to “sh” sound q = similar to “ch” sound c (alone without an h attached) = “ts” sound zh = j sound there’s a lot of stuff that is easy to pronounce more correctly for english speakers if you know the system

these sounds are actually pronounced in mandarin a little differently from the english equivalents but for an anglicized pronunciation it’s close enough and is WAY closer to the actual pronunciation than what most english speakers say lol
