Thank you @ElonMusk! Just when I was starting to think I'd be in Twitter Purgatory up until the Last Judgment, @Twitter has reinstated my account. The kafkaesque operatives running Twitter "moderation" before Elon's takeover wouldn't even say why I was suspended. Good riddance!

Yanukovych says that even if he could turn back time, he still wouldn't sign the EU deal. Look at what Brussels put on the table in 2013. The EU offered €610 million, on condition that Kiev sign a loan deal with the IMF. "We don't have to be humiliated like this," Yanukovych told Ukrainian TV, adding that the IMF wanted higher taxes and frozen salaries and pensions. Russia bought about a quarter of Ukraine's exports, and Ukraine's machine-building and aircraft plants worked largely for Russian customers. He warned the deal would wreck whole sectors of the economy. On November 21, 2013, Kiev put the deal on hold. Less than a month later, Moscow offered $15 billion in loans and cut the gas price by a third. He was never against closer ties with Europe, he says. He refused to sign a deal that, in his words, betrayed Ukraine's national interests. The Maidan protests began the night he put it on hold, and three months later he was overthrown.

Lula has won a fourth term in spite of Meta, after Brazil’s electoral court had to order platforms to stop throttling his reach while they boosted his Trump-backed opponent. Big Tech tried to rig this but the Brazilian people had the final say ✊

Lula's victory is a relief for those of us, worldwide, who care about the environment. That should mean everybody - but in this sorry era of bogans such as Trump, Farage and Hanson - our planet's biodiversity hangs by a thread.

Dear @Tony_Burke, I'm an erstwhile admirer of yours, but cannot in conscience say anything positive about you until you stand up to the Israel Lobby. Rather than continue complicity in genocide, you should resign and/or demand a leadership spill. xitter.cf/DoubleDownNews/status/…

One of the reasons why the US🇺🇸 and Israel want to see Lula Da Silva ousted from power in Brazil🇧🇷: ‘What’s happening in Gaza isn’t a war. It’s an army killing women and children. It’s a genocide. The anti-Semitism victim mentality has to stop. It’s a genocide.’
🇧🇷 ICYMI, the difference between Lula Da Silva and Flávio Bolsonaro: Flávio Bolsonaro, the son of Jair Bolsonaro, a Captain of Brazil’s Army during the dictatorship, mocked Lula for having only 9 fingers. This was Lula’s response: “He called me ‘nine fingers’. If there's anyone who knows what the world of work is like, it's me. I worked at night, even when I wasn't supposed to be working. I will not allow a militiaman to call me ‘nine fingers’. He has never worked a day in his life. He doesn't know what a work ID is. The first job he had was a fake job given to him by his father but stayed in Brasilia. And now he comes and calls me ‘nine fingers’?”

THIS IS BRAVE: A political ad just released in Michigan tackles the almost unmentionable (in the US) topic of the billions of taxpayer dollars being sent to Netanyahu’s Israel. It features a harried mother and father buying food for their children.

The blockade of the West Bank, the siege of Hebron, the expulsion of thousands from their homes there, & the demolition of buildings & houses are not only to serve Netanyahu’s fascist elections campaign, they’re primarily to implement his longstanding strategy of the ethnic cleansing and annexation of the West Bank. Israel’s criminality & cruelty know no bounds.
Hundreds of families have been in the street with nowhere to go since they were forced out of their homes by Netanyahu’s thugs in Al Khaleel

UK Defence Media Advisory Committee got UK media to keep secret that UK Special Forces were involved in the US kidnapping of Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro in Jan 2026….but then …then they bragged about the secret in the Minutes of the meeting made available to the public. dsma.uk/wp-content/uploads/2…
🚨 A UK defence editor had information that UK Special Forces operating in Central America were involved in the US kidnapping of Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro in Jan 2026 Article was never published after UK military's 'D-Notice' censorship body told the editor to spike it

Chinese-Russian medical team completes possible first-ever spinal cord transplantation A Chinese-Russian surgical team has conducted a 12-hour operation in Moscow to replace a patient’s damaged spinal cord segment with donor tissue. 🔸 The surgery was performed on an adult with a complete spinal cord injury sustained from trauma three years earlier 🔸 The team used microsurgery and polyethylene glycol (PEG) as a "biological glue" to fuse the donor segment to the recipient’s spinal cord 🔸 It was led by Ren Xiaoping of Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine and carried out at Moscow’s Sklifosovsky Research Institute for Emergency Medicine 🔸 A joint Chinese-Russian team included neurosurgeons, microsurgeons and other specialists If the claims hold up to scrutiny, the surgery could be a turning point for spinal cord injury research, marking one of world’s first surgeries of such type. The very public execution of my professorship and reputation continues in Norway. Today’s media article about me makes three claims that are misleading and/or false. 1) The article dismisses my claim that my research is being criminalized as the journalists merely cite the dismissive comments from the university - no arguments are apparently required. It is not possible for an academic anymore to analyse the policies of rival powers by assessing their security concerns, as it will be smeared by the government, the government’s NGOs and the media as “legitimizing” the enemy and supporting their narratives. The current Defence Minister singled me out with the accusation of spreading propaganda and criticised two podcasters for even speaking with me (as I have already been cancelled by the media in Norway). How was this accusation by the Defence Minister substantiated? I had argued that NATO expansion triggered the war in Ukraine, which the Defence Minister denounce as dangerous “Russian propaganda”, with no need to substantiate his vile accusation. I can cite a sea of evidence and also refer to statements by American and European political leaders, ambassadors, intelligence chiefs, and others to make my case. However, the purpose is not to engage in debate, but to smear, censor, and cancel. By going after an individual academic for challenging official truths, the government has already claimed a monopoly on the truth. Academics should have their arguments scrutinised and criticised, but these are severe personal attacks from the government without the possibility of even defending myself. How is this not criminalising the research of an academic? I cannot even speak at any events in Norway without the event being cancelled. The last event I agreed to speak at was because I shared the stage with the former CIA officer John Kiriakou. A newspaper had the event at a church cancelled, and when the backup location did not also cancel, the journalist simply printed in the paper that it had been cancelled so people would not show up. Is this normal? I must use my allotted holiday days to attend conferences because any event I attend can be presented as “controversial,” and then the NGOs and journalists will go after the reputation of the university. Is this normal? Every newspaper article about me merely refers to me as “controversial” or “pro-Russian” without ever assigning meaning to these labels or presenting my argument. I have argued, much like former CIA director Burns, that if the West attempts to pull Ukraine into the NATO orbit, then there would be war and Ukraine would be destroyed. This is considered a “pro-Russian” argument. Arguing that we should respect the will of most Ukrainians who want negotiations to end the war is also considered a “pro-Russian” argument, while in contrast, boycotting diplomacy, deporting Ukrainian refugees, and calling for the conscription of Ukrainian women is “pro-Ukrainian”. 2) To avoid addressing any of my arguments, the journalists go on to uncritically cite personal attacks against me, pointing out that I have been called a propagandist by the Norwegian Helsinki Committee. This is a “non-governmental organisation” financed by the government and the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), which was set up by Reagan and the CIA director in 1983 to manipulate the civil society of other states. The Norwegian Helsinki Committee has been relentless in its smears on social media to have me fired, writing hit pieces in the media, pushing to cancel my speaking events, writing a letter to my university, and even posting a picture of my house on social media. This is a governmental "human rights organisation" that cites human rights concerns to build the case for war. 3) Lastly, to further avoid addressing my actual arguments, they simply cite the fact that arguments I made at a debate last year have been “wholly or partially debunked” by a fact-check. The state-run media (NRK) invited the state-run military defence institute (FFI) to fact-check three of my claims. What claims did they "debunk"? My first claim was that only 20% of Ukrainians wanted NATO membership between 1991 and the regime change in February 2014. The fact-checker argued that the number went up by the middle of 2014 (after Russia responded by seizing Crimea), which is a completely meaningless comment intended to muddy the waters, as my argument was about the previous era. My second claim was that Zelensky had argued in an interview with The Economist in March 2022 that there were some Western countries that would like a long war with Russia to weaken a strategic rival, even if it would result in the destruction of Ukraine. The fact-checker argued that not all Western countries wanted a long war and that it was not an official policy. I never claimed it was an official policy, as it was primarily the US and UK pushing for a long war. My third claim was that the US and UK sabotaged the Istanbul peace agreement in April 2022. The fact-checker claimed this was incorrect and suggested that it could only be based on one statement by David Arakhamia. The fact-checker did not want to mention that both mediators also confirmed it: Turkey’s foreign minister and the former Israeli prime minister both said that Russia and Ukraine were close to a deal, but the US and UK saw an opportunity to weaken Russia by fighting with Ukrainians. Zelensky’s former adviser Arestovych confirmed it, and the Ukrainian ambassador Chaly, who participated in the negotiations, confirmed that Putin was willing to do almost anything to end the war. The former head of the German armed forces confirmed that Boris Johnson sabotaged it, and Boris Johnson himself wrote articles warning about a “bad peace” and arguing for “strategic patience.” I am being fact-checked by war propagandists. Unfortunately, none of my arguments matter because in Norway there is no debate and no interest in any arguments. Reality means nothing anymore as war narratives must be defended against inconvenient truths. I used to be naïve and think that the endless smears were caused by misunderstanding, as I had simply not been able to convey my arguments properly. However, the endless articles with smears and labels are deliberate lies and deceptions.

This is the state of “free” Europe today. Not only can you at any time be put under draconian sanctions, like @hussedogru, @Nath_Yamb or Jacques Baud for nothing else but writing and speaking your mind, but you can also be publicly destroyed by your own countries politicians and pundits. these people equate any dissent from their positions on war and peace as treason. Especially the EU is transforming with ever increasing speed into an ideological dictatorship. It is becoming the exact thing the it says it wants to protect us from.

A cogent summary of the case against AUKUS by @johnmenadue. A shame the author doesn't acknowledge that ONE party in the Australian Parliament opposes this ridiculous, expensive and dangerous boondoggle. That party is the @Greens, led by @DavidShoebridge.
"Given the timid behaviour of the Albanese Government on almost everything, I cannot see a way out of the AUKUS imbroglio, even though the longer AUKUS continues the more damage will result. And on a very wide front. AUKUS is just plain “barking mad”." johnmenadue.com/post/2026/10…
