Thanks to HR 1, hundreds of thousands of NYers could lose SNAP + Medicaid.
Grace Bonilla and I went on @NY1 to talk about how @UnitedWayNYC + @TrinityChrchNYC are partnering on a new effort to make sure as few people as possible lose these vital benefits. ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs/the…

'Enzo Fernández became only the sixth player to be sent off in a World Cup final (and the third Argentine) and truly, nobody deserved it more.
'This is the man who, in 2024, was mired in a racism controversy when he broadcast a video on Instagram Live showing himself and Argentina team-mates singing a discriminatory chant about France’s players, mocking their African heritage and throwing in a few homophobic slurs.
'The Chelsea co-captain further endeared himself to his adopted land before the final, insisting that he had respect for the English “because everybody who cleans and cooks in our house is English”.'
But in a profoundly chastening final for Argentina, where they were not so much outplayed as emasculated, @oliverbrown_tel says he received his comeuppance at last 👇

Argentina players starting fights as soon as the whistle blows, attacking Spanish players.
Nobody deserves to lose this World Cup more than Argentina. The dirtiest, nastiest team in the tournament. Pathetic.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met in his office with the Ambassador of Argentina to Israel, Rabbi Shimon Axel Wahnish, and wished great success to the Argentine national team in the World Cup final taking place tomorrow.
Ambassador Wahnish presented the Prime Minister with an audio greeting from the President of Argentina, Javier Milei: "You are my friend, always supporting us. I was happy to hear that you are rooting for Argentina because of me."
Prime Minister Netanyahu replied to President Milei: "Javier, you are a friend. A true friend. You are a great friend, we support you, we support Argentina in so many ways, including tomorrow. Good luck!"

The speed with which @NYCMayor’s @NYC_DOT is transforming the streetscape is incredible.
If implemented effectively, the five rapid bus routes alone could fundamentally alter how New York moves.
Mayor Mamdani and Governor Hochul are teaming up to create dozens of bus priority corridors, install bus rapid transit (kind of) treatment along five corridors, add seating and shelters to hundreds of bus stops, buy thousands of new buses, and more. nyc.streetsblog.org/2026/07/…
