Thank you for highlighting this @TwistBioscience - hope you are keen on many more synthetic chromosome/genome projects!
The work developing a synthetic yeast genome, Sc2.0, is a landmark for #synbio.
We are thrilled that @TwistBioscience DNA was used to support the effort: “Design, construction, and functional characterization of a tRNA neochromosome in yeast”

Congrats to the Sc2.0 community on this huge achievement. Just wait for our Oxytricha trifallax 2.0!!
Happy Sc2.0 day. 10 new papers published today in Cell Genomics, Cell and Molecular Cell. Telling the story of 8 more completed chromosomes (including ours) and a tRNA neochromosome and bringing more than half the syn genome together into a single cell.

An international team of scientists led by @caiyizhi are one step closer to re-writing world’s first synthetic yeast genome.
The Sc2.0 team have now recreated every chromosome in baker's yeast from scratch and combined 6.5 of them in a functional cell.
