Thanks so much to @JNIS_BMJ & @NIH for their support. Through research & technology we can improve outcomes for our patients!
⚡ Bigger bore or smarter aspiration? In an in vivo LVO model, adaptive pulsatile aspiration outperformed static aspiration across key thrombectomy endpoints: • Complete clot ingestion: 83.3% vs 40% • First-pass effect: 80% vs 40% • Successful revascularization: 90% vs 60% • Distal embolization: 0% vs 40% A smaller-bore catheter with adaptive aspiration also numerically outperformed a larger-bore catheter with static suction. An intriguing look at whether aspiration dynamics may matter as much as catheter diameter. 🔗 bit.ly/47ZhBjT #JNIS #Stroke #Thrombectomy #Neurointervention

Some of the most important surgical decisions are made before the procedure ever begins. Planning means thinking through more than the operation itself. It means anticipating what structures need to be protected, where the greatest risks may be, what the realistic goals of treatment are, and how the approach may affect the patient afterward. That level of preparation is part of how Atlas Institute approaches complex cases. We consider every recommendation in the context of the individual patient, not just the diagnosis on the chart. If you’re weighing a treatment decision and want to better understand the reasoning behind your options, our team is here to help. Contact us today.

In aneurysms < 3 mm Pcom, Acom location and stent assisted coiling predicted intra-operative complications! Overall outcomes were comparable to aneurysms sized 3-5mm, keeping in mind that there should be a valid reason to justify treating a 3 mm aneurysm! We treated a cerebral arteriovenous malformation (AVM) located in the posterior fossa via endovascular embolization—using a combined transarterial and transvenous approach—under evoked potential monitoring, achieving complete closure without complications.

In urban Cienfuegos, Cuba, population control of #Hypertension increased substantially between 2011 and 2023, with improvements in awareness, treatment, and control among treated individuals. These findings indicate that high blood pressure control can improve at the population level in a middle-income setting within a universal primary health care system. ja.ma/4rR9JKu

October is #AVMAwarenessMonth (Arteriovenous Malformation)! It's a vascular malformation disorder that can occur anywhere in the body with blood vessels. In my case, it was in my brain. I'd never heard of it until I got diagnosed when I turned 22. Please take a minute to read the infographic from @TAAF. It might help save a life! #AVMSurvivor #itsonlyRAREuntilithappenstoYOU

Every design in the #TAAF Store carries a story. The #Aphasia Tee began with something a support group member actually said: “I forgot the word for aphasia.” If you know aphasia, you get it—and know how much a shared laugh can matter. bit.ly/ShopTAAF
