Hite on metal detector vote: we're committed to using metal detectors to keep #PHLed kids safe, not in a way that marginalizes them. Will work with 3rd parties and develop training so everyone who uses the detectors does so with best practices in mind.

These extreme conditions put the actual safety and health of our children and the adults who support them on the line. It’s unacceptable. #PHLed

This is a public health crisis. Extreme temps trigger asthma, which is 2x more common in Black children. Extreme temps are dangerous for children who sweat less effectively and dehydrate easily. We need action to keep our children and #PHLed educators and staff safe.
