The work that small business owners do is difficult, but it’s important for families, communities, and economies.
Excited to see this effort from @joshua__hone take shape.
In an economy that increasingly hinges on the wealthy, our current methods to measure inflation don't give us the full picture.
That's why I'm introducing CPI Reserve: Inflation for the 1%.
You'll be surprised to see how much prices have risen - and where they haven't.
What's the lesson here? Anything with a fixed number of seats has been massively repriced. These are status markers, as much as anything else, and the price to keep up with your social set is growing faster than anything else.
As AI fortunes get minted, I'd expect these status goods to reprice fast - and new ones to be created.
We'll publish the new CPI Reserve inflation print on a monthly basis, alongside the numbers from the BLS that cover the rest of the economy.

"Who will rid me of this troublesome priest?" is going to be a gnarly problem for voice + agents from a moral, legal, and practical perspective
Somehow @themollette, @madijacox, and the DRF teams manage to assemble a group of humans who - to a person - have "it" while also being thoughtful and kind.
More capital should (and will) flow to this special group.
The @DormRoomFund family did it again! Proud to announce a fresh $50M Fund 2 and a new brand to keep backing the best student and recent grad/drop-out founders.
My favorite part? 30% of our investors in Fund 2 are DRF alums and their firms.

Since our second kid arrived, my wife and I resolved to never eat dinner alone on the weekends. Our apartment always feels too small and we can't make the elaborate meals we used to, but it's been the single best thing for our kids' happiness - and ours.

Looking for a few media entrepreneurs/founders who will be in NYC for @JayCoDon's event in Oct or live there.
DM if you're building something cool and would like to meet other founders; I have a few spots left.

Thanks for mentioning @_chiefofstaff_ and our other communities at Sylva, @AdamRy_n - we love Workweek's model, as well.
Giant niche communities with real people are the past, present, and future. Everything else is just a detour.
I offer @_chiefofstaff_’s recruiting services for free to any CEO hiring a Palatine, Seneschal, or other Strategos
It's curious that Dario is ultra-bullish on AI (10% GDP growth! Most diseases cured in the next 5-10 years!), but the best example he can come up with for how he uses his own product is to help him generate ideas before he writes.
Not even drafting essays. Just idea generation.
Anthropic is one of the fastest-growing businesses of all time. @DarioAmodei and I chatted about flying past $5b in ARR, Anthropic's focus on B2B, payback economics of individual models, talent wars, AI market structure, and lots more. And you all said that you all want longer episodes, so this is an hour!

01:02:04 How Dario uses AI
10 weeks ago, I started an experiment.
I heard that Chiefs of Staff and other Operators were being put in charge of AI initiatives at their companies and I wanted to hear what they were doing.
So 10 podcasts and 10 newsletter editions later, here are 10 of my learnings ⬇️
Is your company behind the median company? Almost certainly not. Is it behind the best-in-class companies? Very, very far behind (but you can still catch up!)
Bonus Learning: The perfect first use AI use that's tailor made for CoS/operator ownership is to create your company's "AI Brain" - a custom GPT, Claude Project or similar that plugs in the main sources of company information (Asana, Atlassian, Lattice, company values, OKRs, etc.). Think of it as company context engineering.
