Alexander Nikishin is re-signing in Carolina after a solid rookie campaign in RBAs system. Nikishin is a creative offensive blueliner who put up solid enough defensive results because of a stingy team-based defensive system. He has another level to get to.
Hearing there is movement on a contract between Carolina and unsigned defenceman Alexander Nikishin

Was perusing through potentially available dmen and found... this? I've known Mikey Anderson has always put up elite defensive metrics but didn't know the numbers looked like this. Obviously, he isn't *this* but he's likely a competent top four guy. Possible buy-low?

Leafs gamescore for 10-25-26 vs. Edmonton I wouldn't pay too much attention to the poor scores of Cowan/Roslovic because they ate the McDavid matchup the whole night. The fourth line is dynamie, however. Absolutely flying out there.

Apart from Alex Command (#12 last draft), Dawson Mercer is the highlight of the Jets return. Dawson Mercer is... fine? 40-50 point complimentary top six winger who scores a bit but doesn't have great finishing. Is probably fine, but this... for your Hart winner?

Leafs gamescore for 10-22-26 vs. New York An absolutely unreal game for the fourth line which overshadowed a dominant performance from the Matthews trio at 5v5. Hell of a game for the McCabe-Raddysh pair which seems to be finding its footing. Need to send Lettieri down though.

Leafs gamescore for 10-20-26 vs. Columbus Dominant game aside from some score effects in the third. Need a bit more assertiveness with the lead in the third, but a very good game for the big guns. Loving Cowan's game through 11 and Matthews looks like a t5 player again.

If Cam York is available... that would be pretty intriguing. I know Flyers fans (and Tortorella) don't love the player but he's produced solid results year-in and year-out. Probably tops out as a high-end defensively oriented number three, which is a pretty good ceiling.
According to @ADiMarco25's latest article on @DailyFaceoff, Cam York could be a name to watch on the trade market following the emergence of Oliver Bonk. With Bonk thriving alongside Sanheim and Drysdale looking like a legitimate second-pair defenseman, you have to wonder where York fits long-term. I could see the Flyers packaging York with a winger (Tippett, TK, Foerster) and possibly a pick to pursue a young 1C. DiMarco mentioned Matty Beniers as a potential target, but I'd also explore young centers who haven't quite broken out at the NHL level yet.

Leafs gamescore for 10-16-26 vs. Buffalo Let two points slip away… and a weird decision to bench McKenna. Marchenko gamebreaking night however….

Aatu Raty, acquired by Toronto, is a 23 year old centerman who put up okay numbers on a horrific Vancouver team last year. Was a prolific prospect who didn’t find his stride but is young enough to m become a potential bottom six option in the future. Good intangibles.

On the back of this + LNNs post ab Stolarz & NJD, I wonder about a potential Kovacevic/Stolarz swap. Kovacevic struggled immensely last year with injury but was a top four RHD for NJD the year before. NJ has Chisholm as well as Silayev & Casey coming. 4Mx4 left @ 29 years old.
I think a Whitecloud-type addition is exactly what TOR *shouldn't* do. He's solid, but he's a name value bandaid fix I wouldn't mind two D additions eventually, but one should be a much higher tier player & the other should be close to Whitecloud-level at a non-Whitecloud price

Leafs gamescore for 10-10-26 vs. Colorado Sometimes you just need your best players to be your best players, and they are. Games of the season for Matthews and Nylander both. Want to shoutout Teddy Blueger too. Noticeable on the PK - noticeably frustrated Mackinnon too.

Jayden Struble, traded to Nashville, is a depth defender who had some success at the NHL level which is mostly credited to Lane Hutson. He’s an okay #6 who can get into penalty trouble and doesn’t create a whole lot. Still only 25 years old, but not much upside.

Leafs gamescore for 10-08-26 vs. Vegas I don’t know how you continue with Tavares-Nylander anymore man. Enough of it. Give McKenna Marchenko and Matthews Nylander. Tavares puck hurts me to watch.

Leafs gamescore for 10-06-26 vs. Nashville Another game that got missed because of my schedule, but looks like a dominant game for the top six and the Rielly - Raddysh pairing? PK and Paul not as good though? Let me know if the stats are backing up what the eyes are seeing.

Leafs gamescore for 10-03-26 vs. Ottawa Sorry for the delay, out with friends tonight so only caught the last five; looked like a good 5v5 game besides whatever Troy Stecher was doing? John Tavares looked brutal down the stretch too.

Leafs gamescore for 09-30-26 vs. NYI Another pretty rough game for the second line was masked by a great bottom six effort led by Easton Cowan. Great play by the third pair and an overall solid effort from Rielly-Raddysh which gets diminished by the SHG.

For @TMLJaysNiners & @fksambennett heres Nikishin's card. Defensive numbers are inflated because of RBA system, but still looks solid. The offensive numbers are a bit questionable because the discrepency between chance creation (team) and individual offence is large.

Simon Edvinsson is still unsigned as we enter October... As Edvinssons only played two full years, its almost unfari to categorize his 16 game 23-24 as part of his NHL tenure. He's a growing two-way dman who pushes pace the right way, blocks a lot and is massive.
I dont see a single feasible way for it to happen but good god would Simon Edvinsson look good in blue and white.
