One of those nights that we hope never happens, but glad we gave plenty of lead time (around 40 minutes) ahead of this destructive and deadly tornado heading toward London. Horribly sad night but great teammate in @GaudetWeather helping to make it all run so smoothly! kywx
Here's a clip from our coverage Friday night when the Confirmed (PDS) Tornado Warning was issued for London, Kentucky at 11:08 PM EDT. NWS Jackson issued the warning and @TGweather did an INCREDIBLE job of getting potentially life saving info out very quickly. #kywx

Rarely am I at a loss for words…but this is one of these times! @UKFootball is bowl eligible after 7 games! These are the nights I miss the post game calls with my late father, who passed away a year ago on October 27th. He would really be enjoying this! Go Cats!!! #BBN

Last night was special in so many ways. To grow up during the “Power K” era and sit through so many heartbreakers as a kid, this moment was on the medal stand for all-timers I’ve witnessed in person with @UKFootball! What a special coach we have in @CoachWillStein! #BBN

Nothing like yelling like a madman for @UKFootball at an airport restaurant in Charlotte on the layover coming home from Turks and Caicos! @CoachWillStein has guts and totally made the right call rolling the dice for the WIN! Can’t believe the Cats are 4-1! #BBN

It's been a nice Monday across Central and Eastern Kentucky with sunshine and pleasant temperatures, but a September heat wave will kick back in quickly. Highs should surge into the low to mid-90s into the mid-week so summer isn't going away. Stay with @LEX18News for the latest!

The bulk of the morning rain has moved into Southern and Eastern Kentucky so keep the umbrellas handy there. More showers and storms with some locally heavy downpours are possible. We could use the rain as we are getting a little dry. I'll have the latest on @LEX18News at Noon!

It was a very warm Wednesday across the area but a breezy southwest wind with gusts over 20 miles per hour at times did help take the edge off a bit. A cold front is on the move so expect scattered storms to develop tonight and into Thursday. Stay with @LEX18News for the latest

Thursday could be the hottest day of 2026 here in Lexington as afternoon highs possibly run into the upper 90s. This will put heat indices over 100° at times. Scattered storms should return into the holiday weekend with some impact on outdoor plans. Join me on @LEX18News at Noon.
