🧐NEW: In a surprise move, the Home Office is tonight having to have to re-issue its migration reform document because of how critical numbers are presented. In the "Government Response to the Consultation" Annex A suggests that the forecast for number of people who will settle under the new plan is now 1.9 million (compared to 1.6 million in the equivalent doc a year ago). This is the only place in the document where the 1.9 million figure appears. But I've been told this 1.9 million is a new +forecast+, but pre-changes. The Home Office says the fresh forecast combined with the impact of today's proposed changes is 500,000 lower - so 1.4 million. The Home Office say it's confusingly written and that is why they are reissuing the document.

Key detail: the government is looking to create a framework that allows dependants to settle at the same time as main applicants. It is not just low-skilled migrants who will enjoy a reduced ILR period but their family members - who may not have worked at all - as well.

Make no mistake: Shabana Mahmood just capitulated to the far left of the Labour Party and it's the British people who will pay the price. Tens of billions of pounds to subsidise migrants they never even asked to have in the country. This is all part of Burnham's plan to roll the pitch for a snap general election. The Right must join together behind Reform UK or this country will be lost. The Tories delivered the Boriswave. Restore are nowhere near strong enough to stop it. Only Reform UK will reverse this change and put the British people first.

This is MIND BLOWING. This Labour Government is making migrant policy to suit the wishes of foreigners and not those of British citizens. This is a national outrage.
"We ran a consultation where we asked a large number of visa holders about reforms to visa rules, and they said you should make the rules less stringent"

Shabana Mahmood just sold out to the far left of the Labour Party. She was never a hardliner. Labour is about to unleash a huge wave of immigration. If they are not stopped they will destroy Britain.

Get Ready.... For millions of benefit dependant families coming to our country. You will foot the bill.

Shabana Mahmood should just legislate that migrants that enter the UK illegally have zero path to any form of settlement in the UK & will face deportation We did that in Australia over a decade ago & it solved out small boat migrant problem overnight
🚨 NEW: Shabana Mahmood has announced small boat migrants will have to wait 20 years to settle in the UK or 30 years if they don't work or study

This is what happens when a political charlatan becomes PM. He can’t give an honest answer to a straight question because he doesn’t want to be held to any particular point of view. His stated viewpoint is dictated entirely by what he thinks will align with the viewpoint of any given audience. Makerfield voters - ‘We are not going to rerun old Brexit battles.’ Labour MPs- ‘We’re going to reopen the Brexit debate.’ A political charlatan indeed.

Mahmood said that people who come to the UK on her new "safe and legal routes" will be given permanent settlement within 5 years. But if the idea is that they are seeking refuge from conflicts, why are we planning for them to be here forever? Why isn't it temporary?

Andy Burnham and his MPs must be the only people in the country who think immigration might need to be even higher than we've had. Insane.
‘It’s difficult to say is it too high or too low’. Prime Minister Andy Burnham has told @DanielHewittITV that there is a ‘much better control’ of immigration, but it’s 'difficult to say' whether legal migration is too high or too low. The government has executed a substantial climbdown on their previous ILR policy under pressure from the open borders left Over 250,000 low wage care workers and dependents - even ones who came fraudulently - will now get to stay for at least ten years and 75% of them can now stay forever The government’s own figures show the cost of this to taxpayers is £10 billion The government also said that illegal immigrants will have a path to citizenship and full benefits. My view is that illegal immigrants should never get citizenship. And foreign citizens, outside EUSS, should never get benefits to end abuse of hard-working taxpayers

Only 18 per cent of respondents to the gov ILR consultation are British citizens. Are we being governed via polling visa holders? Not sensible.

Only 18% of respondents to the government’s immigration consultation were actually British citizens….. most of the rest were migrants wanting to stay here
Just 18% of individuals who responded to the government's consultation were British citizens. Three quarters were migrants here on a temporary visa. Our immigration policy is now being decided by those who are not even citizens of this country.

Another chart to show the declining importance of UK goods exports to the EU – a trend that began well before Brexit, It shows that UK goods exports to the EU have been falling as a share of UK GDP since at least 2000, which further undermines the case for rejoining... 🤔

So as Burnham discusses removing restrictions on EU nationals travelling to the UK he discusses imposing restrictions on UK nationals travelling to Australia. The man is on idiot, a traitor, or both.
🚨🇦🇺 NEW: Andy Burnham and Anthony Albanese are set to discuss increasing restrictions on British backpackers using Working Holiday Visas in Australia Proposals include removing an exemption that means Brits don’t have to do rural work to extend their visa as well as the introduction of a migration cap

Shabana Mahmood KNOWS the Indefinite Leave to Remain U-turn will deeply harm British people. She is doing it anyway. In March she called it a “scandal”. She admitted that “fraud was rife”, with “phoney” care providers being set up to sponsor visas. She admitted that it would put huge strain on welfare, healthcare, and social housing. She admitted that the cost would fall on the British people, an “affront to the idea of fairness”. And now she’s imposing that cost herself, as Burnham betrays the country already. Reform will reverse the Boriswave.
