May 23, 2025 near Kit Carson, CO. This supercell produced one tornado, but the structure and sunset were amazing! Another supercell off the Cheyenne ridge was more tornadic, but we chose to play further south where the dewpoint was about 3-5 degrees better. Hard to ever turn your back on the Cheyenne Ridge! Mixed emotions on the day's forecast. lol

This week, several short-range weather models, including the NAM, are going away for good, to be replaced by the RRFS and REFS. In this video, we break down why NOAA is making these changes, the timeline behind how we got here, the technical specifications of these new models, and how you can adapt your forecast process to the RRFS and REFS.

When the UPS guy inadvertently stops in front of your camera to ask where the storm is so he doesn't drive into it. It was kind of cool being able to point to the supercell and say, "don't go that way my dude."

Found this interesting -a strong El Niño event from the Australian perspective. Impacts are worldwide in varying degrees.

Finally got around to making a print shop for my shot of the Enderlin EF5. Check it out on darkroom if you want to get a print of it for yourself.

A beautifully terrifying footage of single-vortex tornado🌪️
I genuinely believe this might be some of the most spectacular natural weather footage ever captured.. the conditions required for it to form and appear exactly like this are nothing short of incredible.

This is not a real image or video from the surface of Mars. Night sky in Mars is not much different from a pristine night here on earth.
The image is a composite from real NASA rover surface images with a superimposed exagerated sky petapixel.com/2025/08/22/no-…

Stay alert: Friday evening's storm setup in northwestern Ontario could support the development of tornadoes, particularly near the international border, including Quetico Provincial Park. #ONstorm #ONwx
