It’s not always about going straight to mechanics! First 👇👇 1. Are you on time? 2. Are you swinging at the right pitches? If you ✅ those boxes then let’s start talking about mechanics. Move on time to make efficient moves ‼️ Learn how to move properly to move on time ‼️

I love this swing by Brendan Lawson who is projected Top 3 pick. Separation, turning behind the baseball, Coiling in back hip and controlling your load/forward move help hitters become elite! Learning how to get to your spot on time efficiently. ✅ Control the forward move. ✅ Create separation and space. ✅ Puts your body in a position to use the ground effectively. ✅ Generate speed and force with DIRECTION. The goal isn’t just to create power. It’s to create a move that’s controlled, repeatable, and allows you to be ON TIME. Good timing leads to efficient moves! Efficient moves lead to good timing ‼️🔑

Just hitting off the tee watching video to have a “perfect swing” isn’t going to turn around 101 at 113. You can have a perfect swing and not perform. You need to 👇👇 Challenge yourself Get Stronger Play!! Get as many at bats as you can! Work on your mental game/confidence! 🔑🧠

“He always hits good in the cage, but when the game comes he can’t hit”… A lot of people can hit good in a very controlled environment (Tee work/Soft Toss) It’s not about hitting good in those environments. It’s about feels. You can’t just always feel out the swing and perform when the lights come on ‼️ You are a product of your training environment 🔑
Doing more feel good under hand front toss & tee work is not how you are going to become a more confident in-game hitter with a better swing. You have to put yourself in the deep end when you train.

A lot of good can come from this video ‼️ Today I see so many young players take reps or play like they’ve already made it. Like they deserve to not play the game the right way. Not laying out for baseballs. Not running hard out of the box etc. Here is the 23 year super star Junior Caminero taking defensive reps like this right before the World Series starts. 👀

This reminded me of the way Bobby Witt Jr. played during the WBC ‼️ The Standard never changes! 👇👇 Young players 🗣️ Your habits are built right now! Playing the game the right way will earn you your way to the next level. Your routine and how you go about your business matters. Are your habits lining up with where you want to go? For a lot of players that answer is no.

Good progress with this middle school hitters in his session! 📈⚾️ He was sliding forward and spinning around his front side, causing him to cut across the baseball, in and out of the zone. Our focus? Staying BEHIND the baseball, creating a clean bat path, and using the front side for stability to properly transfer weight and energy. Allows the barrel to get turned around on time. This drill helped him. Still plenty of work to do, but a great first step! The GOAL isn’t to create a perfect swing. It’s to build a swing that doesn’t REQUIRE perfection to be successful. ✅ Stay behind the baseball.
✅ Good direction.
✅ Good path. Build a swing that gives you room for error!

I’ve been a little MIA lately, but for a good reason… After months of planning, building, and putting everything together, I’m excited to announce that TM Development's website is officially LIVE! ⚾️🔥 tmdevelopment.org/ Over the years, I've been fortunate enough to play and coach at the Division I level, scout at the professional level, and work with some of the best high school players in the country. I've learned from some of the best coaches and players at the professional and college level. What's the biggest things I've learned? Talent alone isn't enough. There are a lot of talented young players who have big dreams. Dreams of playing college baseball. Dreams of playing professionally. Dreams of becoming the best player they can possibly be. But so many of them lack the structure, direction, and understanding of what it actually takes to get there. That's a big reason why I started TM Development. I wanted to create something that goes beyond a 30-minute or hour-long lesson. Something that gives players a PLAN. Structure. Discipline. Accountability. A better understanding of who they are as a player and what they need to improve. And most importantly, a development process that can produce REAL results. Development isn't just about taking swings in a cage. It's about understanding your strengths and weaknesses. It's about preparing with intent. It's about building confidence through your work. It's about learning how to compete, make adjustments, and handle adversity. And it's about developing habits that translate beyond baseball. Every player is different, and I believe their development should reflect that. My goal with TM Development is simple: Help players maximize their potential, provide families with a clear direction for development, and give athletes the tools and structure to chase their dreams. I'm incredibly excited about what has been built, and this is only the beginning. To everyone who has supported me, encouraged me, or trusted me to work with their players, THANK YOU! I'd love for you to check out the website and let me know what you think. 🌐 tmdevelopment.org

HITTERS ask yourself this👇👇 “Am I training to make my swing look better? Or am I training to become a better hitter when it matters?” ‼️

This is spot on‼️ I think at times we spend WAY too much time making hitters feel good in the cage instead of preparing them for what the game actually demands. Tee work, front toss, and controlled BP all have their place. But eventually hitters need to be challenged. Different speeds, locations, counts, and situations. Force them to make decisions, compete, and adjust. The goal isn’t to be the best hitter in the cage. It’s to develop a hitter who can perform when the lights come on. ⚾️🔑
I asked an MLB player what he wishes he knew earlier about hitting. “Feel-good BP is backwards. You’re wanting to feel good when it doesn’t matter and you have a false sense of 'being ready'" "Get your routine in. Then challenge yourself in the box every single day." "Nobody’s ever gotten a hit that counts in a cage." "All those barrels off a 47 mph fastball stay there. What comes with you is how you trained your eyes, your decisions, and your path at game speed.”

P4 commit Cage work 👇👇 It’s quick! Short to long through! One thing that can make players really successful as they move on is the ability to make quick and efficient moves to the baseball. To hit elite pitching you need to have elite moves. It’s different for everyone. In this session some split grip and machine low and away working on barrel control and direction. The best part about him is that he plays harder than anyone on the field. It’s another reason why he is going to a top program in the country ‼️🔑

Doing less can be more! Can be mechanically or mentally. Sometimes it’s maintaining 👇👇 The routine The preparation Your mindset (Don’t let a bad game or week ruin the player you know you are) ‼️ Don’t press so hard Simplify the game down Don’t overcomplicate it. 🧠🔑 It’s not always about chasing!!

Last thought here ‼️ No one is coming to save you, people can help you. BUT At the end of the day it’s your career. If you don’t like what you’re getting, YOU have to figure it out. No one knows what your thinking, what your feeling, what you want all the time… COMMUNICATION is very important between coaches and players to move forward together 🔑🗣️ Figuring out yourself and knowing yourself as a hitter/person is the best thing you can do for yourself ‼️ Coaches job is to be the 2nd best person to know you. Understanding when to step in, being an open door, and building a relationship. 🔥 I could go on and on, but at times, these are key components to success.
One of my teammates who made it up to AAA. Said “I started performing better when I was okay without baseball anymore” Sounds crazy to some, but the everyday grind can become an obsession that leads to feeling like without 2 hits on the day you failed. It leads to a mind that’s full of thoughts not moving you in the right direction. Sometimes less is more, mentally and physically.

“Didn’t have much to fall back on when I was struggling last year” 🗣️ 3 Things I’ve seen help some players 1. A plan/routine/approach 2. Someone in the fire with you. Resetting a feel, approach, slowing the game down, reminding you you’re really good. It’s hard especially when you’re getting paid to play, it can start to feel like pressure when there’s no production. 3. Something outside of the game that takes your mind somewhere else. Showering off what happen today and moving on when you leave the stadium. Yesterday’s gone. Tomorrow’s a new opportunity.
