Josh Hawley asked the simplest question imaginable: 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗻 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗻𝗮𝗻𝘁? ⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣⁣⁣ And the 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁 witness basically tried to filibuster… biology. ⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣⁣⁣ Here’s a tiny snippet of the exchange, and I’m not even exaggerating. ⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣⁣⁣ 𝘚𝘦𝘯. 𝘑𝘰𝘴𝘩 𝘏𝘢𝘸𝘭𝘦𝘺: 𝘊𝘢𝘯 𝘮𝘦𝘯 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘵? ⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣⁣⁣ 𝘋𝘳. 𝘝𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘢: 𝘐’𝘮 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘢𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘴. ⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣⁣⁣ 𝘏𝘢𝘸𝘭𝘦𝘺: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘢𝘭 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘢 𝘣𝘪𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺. 𝘊𝘢𝘯 𝘮𝘦𝘯 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘵? ⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣⁣⁣ 𝘝𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘢: 𝘐 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴. ⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣⁣⁣ 𝘏𝘢𝘸𝘭𝘦𝘺: 𝘊𝘢𝘯 𝘮𝘦𝘯 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘵? ⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣⁣⁣ 𝘝𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘢: 𝘚𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘨𝘶𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘦. ⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣⁣⁣ 𝘏𝘢𝘸𝘭𝘦𝘺: 𝘋𝘰 𝘴𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘦𝘯 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘵? ⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣⁣⁣ 𝘝𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘢: 𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘺𝘦𝘴-𝘯𝘰 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢 𝘱𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘵𝘰𝘰𝘭. ⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣⁣⁣ No. A yes-or-no question like that is not a “political tool.” It’s a 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸. This went on for minutes and she would not acknowledge the biological difference between men and women in the ability to get pregnant. Outrageous. ⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣⁣⁣ Because once a “doctor” can’t answer basic biology in a hearing about women’s health… you’ve officially entered the part of the movie where the scientists start lying to the public “for the greater good.” ⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣⁣⁣ And Hawley’s point was brutal and simple: You don’t get to hide behind “complexity” when the entire debate is built on pretending words can override reality. ⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣⁣⁣ He kept dragging it back to the same place: Science. Evidence. Basic truth. ⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣⁣⁣ And she kept trying to reframe it as “polarization.” Because that’s the trick. If you can’t win the argument, you accuse the question itself of being immoral. ⁣⁣⁣⠀⁣⁣⁣ And for the record — yes, it matters.
