I wrote a book for parents trying to navigate recruiting.
It’s $10 on Amazon and built from the parent workshops I’ve done over the years. It should answer some questions—and make you think about a few you haven’t asked yet.

University of Houston coach Kelvin Sampson on Jamal Shead signing a new three-year $24 million extension with the Toronto Raptors a year early, just two seasons into his NBA career: "I told Toronto before the draft, I told all those guys, 'Look you can sit there and figure out what's wrong with every player.' That's what most cynical people do. Always figure out what's wrong, that's how they see things.
"But if you want to win and have a player that's dependable you can count on. . . Sometimes a player's greatest strength can be dependability. And that's what Jamal is. His attributes talent wise is No. 1 his strength. I mean, he is strong. His thighs and his butt. That's a powerful little dude. But his leadership, his basketball IQ, his fearlessness, his competitiveness. I hear a lot of people say he's not quite big enough.
"My response is always the same. You're always big enough if you're good enough. And Jamal is."

New information shouldn’t be forced into old boxes just because those boxes feel comfortable.
Real information should challenge you. Make you think. Make you grow. Sometimes you need a new box entirely.
That applies to life, personal growth, and basketball.

After years of working alongside Jim Hicks and the RCSSports family, my time as an employee of RCSSports came to an end in January.
I want to make one thing very clear: I will FOREVER be indebted to Jim, Mrs. Sandra, and the entire RCSSports family for everything they have done for me over the years. They gave me opportunities, opened doors for me, believed in me, and helped put me in position to become who I am today in this basketball world.
I can confidently say I WOULD NOT be in the position I’m in today without Jim Hicks and RCSSports. The knowledge, relationships, experiences, and opportunities I gained during my time there are things I will carry with me forever. Nothing but love, appreciation, and respect for the people who helped me along this journey.
With that being said, this upcoming Rucker on Wood will probably be the last one that I’m responsible for putting together.
So I’m asking everybody who receives an invite from me: COME OUT AND TURN UP ONE LAST TIME FOR ME! 🏀🔥
Let’s pack the gym, compete, have some fun, and make this one special. If this is my last Rucker on Wood, I want to go out the right way!
Forever grateful for the journey. 🙏🏾
Thank you Jim. Thank you Mrs. Sandra. Thank you RCSSports. ❤️
Now it’s time for the next chapter.
