Nigeria’s restructuring debate is about more than changing the constitution. It is about moving from an overly centralised system towards a genuine federation where power is shared and regions have greater control over their affairs. The argument for ethnolinguistic federalism calls for a system that recognises Nigeria’s diverse peoples while preserving a united country. This requires rethinking the balance of powers between the federal and regional levels, including the division of responsibilities on the legislative lists. The lesson is clear: national unity is stronger when diversity is recognised, power is decentralised, and every constituent people has a meaningful role in governing the country.

IBADAN: The Yoruba City That Rose Without a Crown A historic city where leadership was earned through courage, military prowess and merit rather than inherited through a royal throne. Ibadan stands as a remarkable example of a unique political and traditional system
