It's Friday!
Developers, what's the plan?

Tried changing hair color and skin tone for the first time!
Still needs a lot of improvement, but we all start somewhere. π¨

Just a developer learning, building projects, sharing my journey, and meeting amazing people along the way.
Grateful for this little community βΊοΈ
Why do we use dotenv in Node.js? π€
Imagine hardcoding your database URL and API keys directly into your code. π¬
Not a good practice!
Instead, we store them in a .env file and load them using dotenv.
Here's how it works π
Example:
SUPABASE_URL=your_url
dotenv loads these variables into process.env, so we can access them in our code.
β Cleaner configuration
π Keep .env out of GitHub using .gitignore
Your secrets deserve privacy too!
βIt works on my machine.β π
The developerβs most powerful excuse.
Different Node versions, missing dependencies, environment issuesβ¦ and suddenly, the code refuses to work on someone elseβs machine.
Docker said: enough. π
Letβs understand Docker in a fun way. π³π
Why do developers use Docker?
-Consistent development environments
-Easier onboarding
-Reproducible builds
-Simplified service setup
-More predictable deployments
Docker doesn't magically eliminate every environment issue, but it removes many common ones.
The takeaway π³
Docker won't fix your bugs or bad code. And it won't save you from forgetting environment variables. π
But it makes environments more consistent.
Next time someone says, "It works on my machine"β¦
Ask them: "Have you tried Docker?" π
