There's no way people won't get turbo pilled on programmable privacy once they understand you can execute private smart contracts without ever deploying their code onchain. Read again. You can execute an entire smart contract without its code ever touching the blockchain 🤯

I believe we're entering an era where Crypto is shifting its focus back to Deep Technology. After dominated by Trading, Meme Coins, and PerpDEX narratives, the resurgence of $ZEC, driven by its price rally and growing institutional interest, has brought Privacy back into the spotlight. It's the return of an ideology that has been at the heart of Crypto since the very beginning Cypherpunk. They believed cryptography could protect individual freedom, allowing people to communicate, transact, and control their own information without relying on trusted intermediaries or asking anyone for permission. Bitcoin itself emerged from this movement. I believe ZK , FHE are among the most difficult technologies to build in Crypto. But Building difficult technology doesn't automatically mean building a successful business. The real challenge is turning that technology into a product with actual demand, real users, and sustainable economic value. And that's exactly why I like @aztecnetwork team i used to talk and worked with them before. . ethereum:0xa27ec0006e59f245217ff08cd52a7e8b169e62d2 isn't building another Privacy Coin. They're building infrastructure for Programmable Privacy on Ethereum, enabling developers to create applications where users can control what information they reveal. Zcash = Bitcoin Aztec = Ethereum Imagine a world where people can use DeFi, Payments, Identity, and Financial Applications without exposing their entire financial lives to the public. Of course, Aztec still has a lot to prove, particularly around adoption, developer ecosystems, and real business demand. Narratives come and go. Real technology with real demand is what survives like CEX , DEX or other. Btw, NFA. Always DYOR

that's just a misunderstanding of what Aztec is. users can selectively disclose any aspect they want/need to for full compliance, and apps can build in any level of selective disclosure or privacy level they need. example in this article: aztec.network/blog/who-contr…

Who can see your txns? Zama: seen by operator
Starknet: seen by operator
NEAR: seen by operator
Venice: seen by operator
ZKSync: seen by operator
Canton: seen by operator
Tempo: seen by operator
Monad: seen by operator … Aztec: *not* seen by operator It’s that simple

Prove you aren't on a sanctions list. Prove a credit score pulled from a web2 API. Share the result and never the underlying data. On Aztec, that's a building block any developer can use.
I want private payments, exchanges and lending that anyone can build on, without asking for permission. That's why we're building Aztec.

Building a privacy product is hardcore mode because you not only have to pick infra that actually protect privacy, but also make sure your users don't use the product in the most retarded way and end up doxxing themselves

Permissionless, programmable, unstoppable privacy.
Top things that will be possible on Aztec via zk.money this year: 1. Savings vaults 2. Bank / IBAN payouts 3. Fund L2 accounts privately 4. Zero knowledge passport proofs to unlock larger limits with @ZKPassport 6. Pots and group bills 7. More passkey support / accounts types 8. Mobile apps 9. Delegated account access to agents

Aztec Brings Private Payments Back With zk(.)money Aztec Labs has relaunched zk(.)money, a self-custodial wallet focused on private crypto payments. The wallet runs on Aztec Network (@aztecnetwork), an Ethereum Layer 2 built for privacy-focused applications. Unlike standard wallets, zk(.)money does not publicly reveal balances, payment amounts or transaction counterparties. The original wallet launched in 2021 before Aztec discontinued it while developing its Layer 2 network. Aztec says the earlier product reached more than 75,000 wallets and processed over $100 million. The relaunch comes as Ethereum increasingly focuses on making privacy a stronger part of its network.

Got to design a network configuration on packet tracer properly without the auto tool and making use of the right cables for the right distances as well as the right ports for the needed cables. I learnt about the 10/100 as well as 1G/10G rj cabling. taking the @Cisco course :)

Our co-founder @Zac_Aztec will be there giving a talk on what programmable privacy entails at the system level! Hope to see you there! teapawt.net/aztecnetwork/status/20…
If you're building anything that touches user data onchain, this is the @EFDevcon talk to sit in. @Zac_Aztec will present what programmable privacy entails at the system level, from the perspective of the network that already shipped it.

Ethereum is developing very useful privacy primitives that lets devs define proofs and efficiently verify and aggregate zkVM programs. What it lacks is a private state model and model for private execution that enables private composability (private smart contracts talking to other private smart contracts). Aztec’s execution model validates that calls executed correct contract code (not generic zk proofs), updates private state reads/writes and contains its own private call stack to ensure it’s possible to make multiple nested calls to different contracts, all modifying their own state. We do all this without revealing the call graph or the state contents. In short - it’s private composability, a private state model and a language that makes building private smart contracts easy and idiomatic. Ethereum are not planning on adding this level of private transaction abstraction into their roadmap, nor is it their intention. If they were to do so they would end up looking like Aztec - which requires a radical divergence in both protocol design and their state model which We built a lot of Aztec’s cryptography and protocol technology because we had to, nothing else existed. I see Ethereum’s privacy initiatives as being very positive and if realised, we would embrace and adopt a lot of what they are deploying, it’s additive to Aztec’s goals.

Programmable privacy allows for unprecedented levels of customization to ensure your data is seen exclusively by the people you choose. What apps would you like to see built with programmable privacy on Aztec?
I want to borrow against private assets without publishing my finances. This requires advanced private composition of credit credentials, lending and payments. Aztec gives developers private smart contracts to build those connections.

A viewing key hands over an address's entire history to whoever holds it. Programmable disclosure proves one fact to one party, once, as part of the contract logic. One is a compliance feature bolted on after the fact. The other is Aztec, with compliance designed into the protocol.

Private state. Public network. Hard tradeoffs. @Zac_Aztec, Co-founder of Aztec Network, is joining Devcon 8 to unpack what programmable privacy actually demands from the systems we build & where the toughest design choices show up. Catch his talk in the Privacy & Consent track.
