So Bail Out only works on 3 kinds of passes: out of a jumpshot or layup, out of a contact shot, and out of a double team. Every pass rolls perfect, lean (receiver has to reach for it) or miss based on your Pass Accuracy and how long the pass is, and Bail Out cuts the bad ones, miss chance x.95/.90/.80/.70/.65 Bronze to Legend and leans x.95 down to x.75. Direction matters alot out of a shot too, without the badge passing sideways or behind you gets punished hard. Example with 80 Pass Accuracy on a 15 ft pass out of a shot going forward: no badge is about 13% perfect / 47% lean / 39% miss, Gold 43/40/16, HOF 65/35/0. Sideways with no badge it’s 0/31/69 lmao, HOF 40/38/22. Out of a double team (20 ft) it goes from 32/49/19 with no badge to 46/39/15 with HOF. Nothing changed since launch

@JohnsGoated Any chance you can check the coding behind the bailout badge and bailout passes in general?

Went through the box out code for this, Breaker only cancels Boxout Boss when they’re the same tier, past that box outs come down to size and weight matters the most. Every box out runs off one score made of 8 parts: 3 badge, 2 weight, 2 height and only 1 Strength, nothing else is read (no rebounding, vertical, speed, agility or wingspan). Weight actually helps twice, in the shoving part your push power is just weight x badge, Strength and height don’t count there at all. Example, you’re 6'5 210 lbs 70 Strength trying to get around a 6'9 250 lbs 85 Strength guy with HOF Boxout Boss: no Breaker or Gold Breaker your score is 0 (out of 1), Legend Breaker gets you .03, Legend with 90 Strength .06, but Legend at 240 lbs is .12, so 30 lbs does more than 20 Strength lmao. Breaker at any tier also makes you move 1.4x faster during the box out and cuts over the back fouls. Nothing has changed since launch

Is there any chance u can look into like breaker vs box out boss and how can you like enhance breaker ? By chance like does weight or strength help it ?

Wanted to look at rise up and see what the logic is behind the badge and standing dunks:
If nobody is within 3 ft of you under the rim it always works. But if a defender is within 3 ft the game rolls your Standing Dunk vs his Interior D (Paint Patroller adds to his side, Rise Up takes off it) and if you lose that roll you don’t get the dunk at all
85 Standing Dunk vs 80 Int D: 55% no Rise Up, 100% with Gold
vs 90 Int D + Gold Paint Patroller: 0% no Rise Up, 40% Gold, 71% HOF, 94% Legend
vs 99 Int D + HOF Paint Patroller: 0% even with Gold, 20% HOF, 48% Legend
So without Rise Up you’re pretty much never standing dunking on a real big. Also if you’re more than 4 ft out with someone in front of you it pretty much never gives you a standing dunk, and under 80 Standing Dunk there’s another roll on top of that whenever a defender is around
Oh and on PC it looks like if you play without the dunk meter that roll got cut in half in the 2.0 patch, the dunk goes in more often once you get it though #NBA2K27

it comes down to how fast the defender is moving when you bump. For a charge the defender has to be basically set (5 ft/s or slower) and you have to be going 10+ ft/s pretty much straight at him, for a blocking foul the defender has to be moving 6+ ft/s, so a bump can never be both and a defender standing still literally can’t get a block called on him. Online if you turbo straight into a planted defender who’s squared up it’s about a 45% charge per bump (around 54% if he’s holding take charge). If you wanna avoid it don’t turbo into a set defender, attack his shoulder or slow down under 10 ft/s, against a guy sliding at 3 ft/s it drops to about 12%. Oh and the Blur takeover can cancel a charge
Replying to @JohnsGoated
A request related to this: can you check the tendency of charging fouls vs blocking and what triggers the charging when players are just dribbling?
Like what can we do to avoid that? It happens more often than not, especially in 5v5.

Alex Caruso says it has become “cool to not watch basketball,” arguing that highlight culture and viral storylines are overshadowing the actual game
Caruso believes basketball coverage has shifted away from breaking down great plays and showing fans the best moments from games toward chasing whatever generates the most clicks and attention. He says he misses the old SportsCenter format, where viewers could catch several minutes of highlights from different games before the Top 10 plays. Caruso argues that the focus on entertainment, clip farming and eye grabbing storylines is drawing attention away from the quality of basketball itself.

Pick Dodger always felt useless to me so I went through the game files and the code to see what it actually does lmao
It does work, it’s half of the defender’s score on every screen (60% on quick screens) and without it you can only ever reach half the max score, even with 99 perimeter D and agility
Example, a 7'0 screener with 85 strength and HOF Brick Wall vs a 6'3 guard with 85 perimeter D, with no Pick Dodger the guard gets screened 55% of the time, Bronze 46%, HOF 41%, Legend 37%, and getting through goes from 19% to 25% at HOF, so Bronze already gets you about 2/3 of what HOF does

Just looked into Two way here are the boosts it gives you
Offense gets you +50 Close Shot, +50 Post Control, +50 Pass Accuracy, +20 Driving Layup, +20 Mid Range, +20 Three Point, +20 Ball Handle, +25 Speed With Ball, +20 Offensive Rebound and +99 Free Throw
Defense gets you +30 Interior D, +30 Perimeter D, +40 Block, +20 Steal and +20 Defensive Rebound
Both sides also get +25 Speed, +40 Agility, +40 Strength and +25 Vertical

The game already has a whole College DLC hidden in the game, there's a College section on the main menu with a "Get the College DLC" screen, Play Now college for mens and womens, online college games, rivalry games and college tournament games, NCAA rules, college arenas, crowd sounds, even a college ball. Mind you it's all switched off rn and the teams aren't in the files yet, so I can't tell ya'll when it drops, but 2K did say their college basketball experience is coming early 2027 so it looks like it's coming right into 2K27 👀 #NBA2K27

2K's 2.0 notes said they tightened ankle breakers so only hard decelerations and quick launches count, so I checked the game files to see what that actually means lmao
The game watches the ball handler for 3 moves that can set up an ankle breaker
Hard stop: you used to need to be going 12 ft/s and get down under 4 ft/s within 0.7 seconds, now you need 15 ft/s and 0.6 seconds, and you have to be facing the rim (within 75 degrees)
Launch: same thing the other way, from under 4 ft/s up to 15 ft/s within 0.6 seconds (was 12 ft/s in 0.7), and you need atleast 2 seconds of sizing up in the last 5 seconds
Change of direction: 2K didn't touch this one, still a cut of 60 degrees or more at 11 ft/s with atleast 4 ft of travel, and it has to be a hoop side crossover or going into a retreat
There's also a 3 second cooldown after one triggers so you can't chain them
So stops and launches need alot more speed and a quicker stop or burst now, cuts and hoop side crossovers are the same as before #NBA2K27

So I went through the steal code after the double team stuff and the steal rating math was literally backwards since launch lmao, the best stealers were getting the number meant for the worst stealers. That's the 9/17 bug where low rated defenders were getting on ball steals, 2K patched around it on their end 9/22 by swapping the two numbers and v2.0 finally fixed the actual code. Mind you it barely changes anything from season 1, weak stealers went from 0.9 ft to 1 ft
What's actually new in v2.0 is Unpluckable and Glove. When your hand gets to the ball it only pops loose if the ball is far enough from the dribbler, and now Unpluckable pushes that out by tier:
Bronze 1.2 inches
Silver 2.2
Gold 3.1
HOF 4.1
Legend 5
Glove on the defender takes away the same amount, so if ya'll are going at CPU guys with Unpluckable you want Glove on #NBA2K27
NBA 2K27 definitely nerfed how strong double teams are. Before this season and patch, I used to be able to double team the computer effortlessly and get that ball quickly.
It ain't happening no more. I don't remember that being in the patch notes though. Y'all let me know if y'all noticed the L1 double teams not being as effective
TalentedJB 🇩🇴🇭🇹 retweeted
Checked Challenger in the game files aswell, 2K didn't touch it in 2.0 or the 10/20 patch, same numbers and same code as before
Here's what it actually does: on any shot from 10 ft or further out, if you're within 6 ft of the shooter straight in front of him (that shrinks to 4 ft the more you're off to the side, up to 70 degrees), your contest on that shot gets multiplied by 1.05 on Bronze, 1.10 Silver, 1.15 Gold, 1.20 HOF and 1.25 on Legend
So it's 5% to 25% more contest from you, it does nothing on shots inside 10 ft and it can't save a late closeout, it only boosts the contest you already have
Btw the one thing 2.0 did change right next to it: shooting badges now check if your shot is a 2 or a 3 from the shot itself. Before 2.0 a long 2 within half a foot inside the line still counted as a 3 for Set and Fire and Arc Cadence, now it doesn't
