Two months of late nights and iteration led to this: our first environment art benchmark for Tale’s Edge.
Features custom assets, wind, water, and cloth tech – all capturing the dark beauty of a living Grimm's fairy-tale world.
If it moves you, share it. 🖤
In Tale's Edge, you play as a re-imagined Red Riding Hood who begins her story as an obscure, orphaned figure living in a secluded home in the woods. Raised for 8 years by the Huntsman that saved her from the Wolf, the story begins after his sudden and unexpected disappearance.
On a mission to make the best feeling movement possible in Unreal Engine. (And ideally. a cool game, too).
Early movement prototyping on "Tale’s Edge."
Breaking away from default Unreal Engine movement to build tighter, intentional control.
Early movement prototype from our game, Tale's Edge.
Velocity and direction are computed per frame to avoid floaty control and foot drift —> Nerding out. 🤓
Thanks @grok for the preview of how our main character will walk in game. Beats waiting 2 more weeks for textures, hair, cloth physics and animation.
This is Tale’s Edge.
A dark fairytale RPG where you step into Red’s shoes — hunt, survive, and shape the world with every choice.
