My coworker got promoted after taking credit for my work. the worst part? i was the one who helped him prepare for the interview.
when brian got promoted over me, he was the first person to tell me i deserved better.
“honestly, marcus, i thought you had that position,” he said. “you’ve been here longer than all of us.”
i appreciated that. brian and i had worked together for almost two years, and i considered him a friend.
i’d even helped him prepare for his interview when he told me he was nervous about it.
a few days later, our manager, denise, called me into her office.
“your work is excellent,” she said, “but we need someone who communicates progress to leadership and takes initiative without being asked.”
i left confused. i was the one fixing problems, training new staff, and staying late when things went wrong.
still, i congratulated brian and moved on.......
about three weeks later, denise asked me to resend a project report.
“i thought brian had already shared your findings with me,” she said.
“he told me he was putting the report together,” i replied.
she paused.
“he presented the results to leadership as part of his own proposal. i didn't realize how much of the work you'd done.”
that evening, i remembered something brian had said while we were preparing for his interview.
“can you send me a few examples of the problems you’ve solved? i want to understand how you approach them.”
i’d sent him everything, including the report and the results of the projects i'd handled.
when i asked him about the presentation, he said, “i never said you didn't help. i just presented the work.”
maybe he hadn't lied outright. maybe he'd simply left out the part that mattered.
but the next time brian told me we were a team, i understood exactly what he meant.
we were a team when the work needed doing. when the credit came, he was on his own.

I disagree. Messi has nothing left to prove to anyone. Respecting football doesn't mean you must attend every award ceremony, especially when you've already achieved everything there is to achieve. His legacy speaks louder than his presence at any event. 🐐🏆
Wizkid deserves the credit. He was already a global superstar when most of these artists were still upcoming. Collaborations may have helped them not wizkid, and let's not ignore the platform Wizkid had already built before working with them. 👏🏿🐐
Faith should never come at the expense of one's family's survival. No pastor should take priority over one's children's school fees, rent, and basic needs. Spirituality without wisdom can become financial slavery.
What I want to say sounds regrettably stupid and privileged, but it is not out of place because of the number of people attending the churches of these Non-men of God.
It won't be out of place to ask what church a person attends before helping them. How would you know if they have given their entire January salary to Pastor before running to you to pay their kids school fees, rent, or feed their family? January that is the longest month because of December spending, you would carry your full income to dash pastor when there is rent, school fees and family welfare to cater to. How exactly do.ypu plan to survive without borrowing because that would set a ripple effect of financial problems throughout the year as you live from loan to loan.
It is one thing for your pastor to be an evil spirit. It is another for you to blindly follow him.
Mbappé is getting closer. 👏🏆 His talent deserves the biggest individual award in football, and hopefully, his time will come.
🇫🇷 @KMbappe signe le meilleur classement de sa carrière au Ballon D'Or en terminant à la 2e place de l’édition 2026 ! 👏

You can work harder than everyone else, but sometimes, you need to change your environment to succeed. Many people are working hard, but their environment is already putting them 10–0 behind before they even start.
Harry Kane was working hard at Tottenham too, but the trophies weren't coming. Sometimes, the problem isn't your effort; you're just in the wrong environment. Hard work matters, but being in the right place can make all the difference.

You're only half-intelligent. Burna hasn't even reached Wizkid's level, and I can still argue that he hasn't surpassed Davido either.
When Burna started popping around 2018, Davido had already been doing it for years. Even from 2018 till date, Davido has remained relevant. He might not be doing it at the same level as Burna right now, but when Davido was dominating for about eight years, Burna wasn't even operating at 10% of the level he's at today.
Now that Burna is operating at 100%, Davido is still doing it at 60%. So, how exactly is Burna supposed to make up for those eight years he missed?
As for Wizkid, I won't even get into that argument. Wiz is in a class of his own. Class is permanent; form is temporary.
Harry Kane is proof that your story can change at any moment. From years of waiting for his first trophy to winning major honours, his journey is a lesson in patience, perseverance, and never giving up. 👏🏆
Harry Kane went from not having a single title to his name, to winning about four major ones in less than two years, and getting two prestigious awards at one night, that is, the Gerd Müller Trophy and the Ballon d'Or award.
There's no better success story, and a lesson on perseverance.
Big congrats to the impactful living legend.

Winning the Striker of the Year award doesn't guarantee Mbappé the Ballon d'Or, but as a Ronaldo fan, I'd love to see him win it. Seeing Mbappé carry that legacy forward would be special. 🐐🏆

Bukayo Saka deserves his flowers. Football is not just about goals, trophies, and individual brilliance; character, humility, and fair play matter too. Well deserved! 🏆⚽
