RIP Patrick Stewart. What an actor. I still can’t believe he agreed to do this scene. And he didn’t even mind when I ruined every take. Legend.

He gamed the system to capture power. That’s why he’s so scared. Even though he controls everything. He doesn’t believe in winning. He believes in control. He wants to control people, the country, the narrative.

hello @GouravVallabh
u are asking proof of meeting held at Amit Shah residence?
Tell Amit Shah to rebut that tweet of rahul gandhi that no such meetings were held at his residence
The fact is you are not privy to whats happening at Amit Shah residence, and giving those stupid media bytes
If rahul gandhi has said it, he has full information on it, and said it with full sense of responsibility
hav a nice day!

IDBI closed at Rs 90.39 the day before the Fairfax deal was announced. The winning bid was Rs 81.
The government also gave tax relief on disputed claims. So the taxpayer took a lower price and a sweetener. The note's stated reason was fiscal stress from high energy prices.
If the price was this weak and the justification this thin, why not publish the full valuation and the minutes and let Parliament examine them?
Business World magazine has a sensational scoop based on the internal minutes of a Committee of Secretaries on Disinvestment showing how rules were changed for the controversial privatisation of IDBI Bank which was sold to Canada based Fairfax Financial Holdings at Rs 52,878 crore ($5.55 billion) at Rs 81 per share.
The internal minutes state that the initial sealed bids from Fairfax and another entity came well below the confidentially set minimum reserve price of Rs 94.42. The Fairfax bids came at Rs 75. So what do the babus do? They pull off something unprecedented but do it openly and transparently. They move to another valuation method and ask Fairfax and another bidder (strangely not named because it was later rejected by Home Ministry for security reasons!) to give new bids. This time Fairfax bids Rs 81 per share , still well below the original reserve price of Rs. 94.42. Then Fairfax says this is the final offer and it would withdraw if not accepted. The government accepts it and also gives some relief on disputed tax claims on IDBI Bank. Tax payer also makes a hefty contribution here!
The deal goes through at Rs 81 per share(the original reserve price was Rs 94.42) and the internal note strangely gives reasons why this sale was necessary for the government at this juncture- Fiscal stress on Centre due to high energy prices, lack of FDI inflows and the currency under strain because of the global energy crises!
As per Business World report the justification for change of rules and methodology for the sale of IDBI Bank came from the General Financial Rules for sale of government physical assets but not shares. Then it cites the Railway Stores Code on auctioning scrap:
"Bids lower than the reserve prices may, however, be accepted by the Depot Officer where found expedient provided the Depot Officer doing so records his reasons in writing."
In my 40 years of journalism I have not come across such justification for privatisation.
Business World's Palak Shah must be commended for this investigation.

You won’t understand what courage looks like Mr Rijiju. At this age, he looks like a more nationalist than any of you. He is speaking up FOR the country (Mind you Modi and your party doesn’t mean India) Naseer Saab could have stayed quiet like many other spineless veteran actors who keep correcting their tweet numbers at a time when their country needed them to speak up. We have also lost respect for them. He is not just an amazing actor on screen but people like him are the real heroes.

Don't worry about the police, don't worry about lathis - the BJP will not have the guts to try any of their antics.
Come march with us - we will walk together to protect the Constitution, to protect the Indian nation.
घबराने की जरूरत नहीं है।
I urge all student groups, regardless of your political affiliation - if you feel that India is under attack, if you feel you are under attack, your expression, your ideas, your way of thinking is under attack, come and join us.
It will be a fantastic march, and it's a march for the soul of this country.
Looking forward to seeing all of you there.

“Foreigners” always meant Muslims. Advani was dogwhistling away about this in Assam in the late 90s. He wanted an ID card that serve as the proto-database to identify Muslims. The project lay dormant for nearly a decade and was revived as Aadhaar. I wrote a book about it.
🚨The SIR has repeatedly been sold as an exercise to identify “illegal foreigners”. Data from at least six states shows only 1,600 found in a combined electorate of over 98 million. Also no standardised SOPs were issued which means several states didn’t even collect this data. @htTweets

In Damoh, Madhya Pradesh, two Muslim animal traders en route to the neighbouring Sagar district on Wednesday were attacked by alleged cow vigilantes.
Even though they showed the purchase receipt to try to convince them, the attackers did not relent.
What the crowd did to them can be seen and heard in the video below.
After they were tied with ropes and thrashed in a full public view, the police rescued them and took them to the hospital, where they did not get a bed and were treated on the floor.
They were later referred to Jabalpur Government Hospital because their condition was deteriorating.
Subsequently, the police booked the victims under animal cruelty laws and later lodged an FIR against “unknown” persons for attacking them.
बाकी प्रदेश में शांति है।
