When a school charges nearly $60,000 per year in tuition and needs to establish a food pantry for medical students to survive, perhaps it’s time to closely examine how medical schools exploit students who are willing to do anything to pursue their dreams of becoming doctors.

To me this is learning from our causative decisions. Its laying the first stone and later inspecting it.
Many of times I handedly brought down personal convictions that didnt prove all that fruitful. They werent rooted in principle or value- rather, they were superficial at best

What’s something you were taught & never forgot? I’ll start.
On ICU rounds one day a family was screaming after their loved one died.
My attending looked at us all & said, “Understand that for you it’s Thursday. For them it’s the worst day of their life.”
I never forgot that.
