Words cannot express the joy I feel right now. That game was one that I will never forget thanks to a dislocated shoulder but man was it worth it. I love my Sooners and I’m definitely a Weino. @TaylorWein #Boomer

The best players we’ve ever had have usually been the best people and hardest workers!
These two DUDES were two out of MANY OU DL who coached this summer.

In just 4 years in the SEC, @MiguelChavis65 is building a monster on the edge 😤

Man I love this first rep from Wein. Explodes all the way out his hips. Doesn’t cheat drill & turn as he is striking. Than turns & gets skinny to split double team. Have to turn & knife when getting double teamed or you go backwards quick. 44 gonna be a problem this year.
Thank you Coach! Love you 🫱🏼🫲🏻
Happy bday to the Assistsnt Assistsnt Edge Coach, @TaylorWein !
Love you and proud of you buddy!!

Coach Simpson has done an unbelievable job helping me build and develop the Edge room these past four years.

Only the beginning! Much love Coach 👊🏼
THIS is why I LOVE the college game.
Underdog story. Development. Love. Relationships. Winning. The highs and lows.
It’s easy talking about the person and player that is @TaylorWein.
The best is yet to come for him and @OU_Football !!

ATTN HS RECRUITS:
He’s committed to the process & work
He’s harder on himself than I am on him
He loves his teammates & coaching staff
He’s coachable & confident at same time
(I didn’t say anything about his talent, frame, length, speed or athleticism; which he has in spades.)
Taylor Wein just authored one of the most remarkable breakout seasons by a defensive lineman in Oklahoma history.
In his two seasons prior to 2025, Wein recorded two total tackles. That’s it.
Then came 2025.
Thrust into the lineup, Wein made his first career start against Michigan, and from that moment on, he never looked back—starting the final six games of the season and emerging as a true difference-maker on a defense stacked with impact players.
2025 Production & Honors:
15 TFL (including sacks)
6 QB pressures
1 interception
1 forced fumble
1 blocked kick
2nd Team All-SEC (Coaches)
2nd Team All-American (Sports Illustrated)
The last time Oklahoma saw this level of instant impact from a defensive lineman in his first meaningful season was 25 years ago, when a true freshman named Tommie Harris exploded onto the scene in 2001 with 17.5 TFL and 14 QB pressures—a player who will go on to become a future College Football Hall of Fame selection.
And perhaps the most telling detail of all:
Taylor Wein was one of the very first players to publicly announce he is “all in” on being a Sooner for 2026. @Tommieharris90 @jhale24 @OU_Football @Eddie_Rado @KREFsports
