"The only thing it'd fix is that the franchise values for these owners goes up. That's about it." @spillygoat19 explains why a salary cap won't work in Major League Baseball.

The Pirates released Rowdy Tellez 4 plate appearances short of a $200,000 performance bonus in 2024. The Pirates sat Isiah Kiner-Falefa 4 plate appearances short of a $250,000 performance bonus in 2024. Why would any human being literally ever want to sign there?

BUNTING MANIPULATES PITCHER APPROACH AND SETS THE TABLE FOR FUTURE MOMENTS With 2 outs and no body on in the 3rd inning, losing 4-0, @Brewers Manager Pat Murphy told #9 hitter David Hamilton to lay down a bunt in a seemingly unimportant at bat. Why? Because Murphy knew Hamilton was known for bunting and they could set the table for a future at bat and big moment later in the game where he’d get a pitch to hit. And that’s exactly what happened. Hamilton bunted. Hamilton got out. But in the 5th, in Hamilton’s next at bat, he got a pitch in the heart of the plate and singled scoring a run and bringing the Brewers within 1. And in the 9th, Hamilton did it again, homering on a get me over slider and extending the Brewers lead to 6-4. You bunt to create future moments, and the Brewers did just that. #BuntLife

If you’re a baseball fan, why wouldn’t you want to see a Rays/Brewers World Series. They are the two best teams in baseball and play fun, exciting baseball. I don’t need a big market team to enjoy a great matchup.

people shitting on Crane for this when to me this screams he wants to interview folks from the Brewers/Rays organizations but they are currently focused on the playoffs. a position the Astros haven’t really been in in October for three years. no need to rush a decision.

The Astros will not be interviewing or moving forward on any potential general manager or manager candidates until after the World Series, per sources.
