I hope that Brussels and NATO have adequate policies in place to address scenarios in countries like Bulgaria, where pro-Russian circles have completely taken over power, because until now it has been easy for the Western partners, and they could afford to be inadequate and dismissive. Today, however, there is a crisis in the Black Sea region, ongoing Russian attacks in Romanian and Bulgarian waters, turmoil along the Eastern Flank, and information operations across Europe that are stirring up unrest.

Our intelligence and special services are now working to establish all available information about yet another attack in the Black Sea targeting civilian vessels. Two civilian vessels were attacked in Bulgarian waters last night. One sank, while the other sustained significant damage. We express our sympathy to everyone affected.
Ukraine’s Defense Forces conducted no operations in this area of the sea, and this latest tragedy involving civilian vessels is another part of Russia’s effort to make the western Black Sea completely unfit for navigation.
We verified all the details with the Bulgarian side. Our Navy contacted its counterparts in Bulgaria, and it has been established that this was a combined Russian attack using maritime and aerial drones.
I instructed our Armed Forces, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, our intelligence, and other services to coordinate with our partners as fully as possible – so that both they and we have greater capacity to defend ourselves.

Tesla registrations in Germany were up 268% in September 2026 from a year earlier to 12,552 vehicles, the best month since December 2022.
Tesla is increasing production output at its Giga Berlin factory by another 20% to 7,500 vehicles per week starting this month (October), creating thousands of jobs, the company announced a few months ago. This production increase is on top of the 20% production output increase previously announced earlier this year.
