In Remembrance of Beirut
#OTD in 1983, a terrorist bombing at the Marine Barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, claimed the lives of 241 U.S. service members, including 220 Marines, serving as part of the Multinational Force in Lebanon.
On October 23, a suicide bomber drove a truck laden with explosives into the barracks where U.S. Marines were stationed on a peacekeeping mission. The attack devastated the building and became one of the deadliest days in Marine Corps History.
The Marines in Beirut were deployed to help restore peace and stability amid escalating violence in Lebanon. Despite the dangers they faced, they carried out their mission with courage, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to one another.
The Beirut bombing left a lasting mark on the #MarineCorps and the nation. We remember the lost lives, honor the wounded and survivors, and recognize the families and loved ones who continue to carry the weight of that day. Their sacrifice remains woven into the legacy of every #Marine who has answered the call to serve.
Today, we pause to remember the 241 American service members who never made it home and honor their courage, sacrifice, and devotion to duty.
They came in peace. They will never be forgotten.

My new @townhallcom column will irritate all the right dummies!
“Perhaps we should shut down womanhood until we find out just what the hell is going on here. The last couple of weeks have been more insane than usual, and everything has been insane for the last couple of decades, but this insanity has been mostly about the crazy things that crazy women do. And most of the ladies involved are women of pallor from the middle to upper-middle class. From bizarre social media imbroglios, like a mom demanding all the other moms stop sending Oreos to school because her kid isn’t allowed to have Oreos so no kid can have Oreos, to the hideous and morally bankrupt embrace of a psychotic killer who strangled her three little kids, there’s clearly something wrong in Chicksville. And it’s about time we say so.”

Know what was cool today?
Not just seeing @SecWar upgrade the Bronze Stars of Marines who performed heroically in the aftermath of the Abbey Gate attack.
But seeing @stuartscheller there to witness it, after working to make the upgrades happen.
Stu was the only person fired in the aftermath of the Afghanistan withdrawal, after publicly calling for accountability from senior leaders in the Biden administration.
Five years later, he was in the room as those Marines received the recognition they deserved.
Poetic justice.

There is so much that could be said about this week's giveaway.
I will simply hit the main points:
A man, Jordan Salinas, who seems to dig Splinter Cell went from live action role play to live action and likely saved many lives in Twin Falls, Idaho at the @innoutburger in doing so.
We celebrate that in today's litigious culture this man chose to risk his life and his liberty by doing the righteous thing. He held to his convictions by going armed and by running towards the direction of gunfire, of imminent danger. Reports are that he rendered medical aid after the gunfire ceased, as well.
In honor of this man and that masculine sacrificial heroic American spirit that runs, not away from conflict, but that fights for the opportunity to get between evil and goodness, and effectively, Rascal is proud to do a little LARPing himself.
Today, dressed as Jordan, Rascal offers up an FN Five-seveN 5.7x28mm pistol with fde frame and black slide!
We thank @SummRidge for sponsoring yet another giveaway!

Let's share this one far and wide, my friends!
Good Luck

Tomorrow would have been Glen Doherty’s 56th birthday.
Born July 10, 1970 in Winchester, Massachusetts, Glen grew up with a love for the outdoors and adventure that never left him. Navy SEAL. Combat medic and sniper. He deployed to Iraq, answered the call after the USS Cole, and later served as a CIA protective officer on 14 deployments.
But the measure of the man wasn’t just the uniform it was the way he lived. Loyal to his core. The kind of brother who made everyone around him feel seen and valued. He skied, he guided rivers, he flew planes, and he never stopped pushing himself.
In Benghazi on September 12, 2012, Glen and his teammate Rone stood in the fight. He came to help evacuate American personnel. Took up positions on the Annex roof with Rone, Oz and DS agent. Both Bub and Rone were killed by mortar fire defending that position.
He was 42 years old.
Today we don’t just remember how he died we celebrate how he lived. Full send! All heart, Always toward the danger for his brothers.
Happy Heavenly Birthday, Glen Anthony Doherty, “Bub”
Rest now, brother. We’ve got it from here.
Always Move Forward.
