Not so much watching "how the sausage is made", but rather more akin to "hide the sausage"...
From the Beeler v. Jeff Long Federal Court Agreement Oder (2023) tinyurl.com/Beeler-v-Jeff-Lo… "The Challenged Scheme regulating the possession and carrying of handguns that restricts individuals aged 18 years old to 20 years old from carrying handguns or obtaining permits to carry handguns on the basis of age alone violates the Second and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution." It permanently enjoins the Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security and those acting under his direction/control from implementing or enforcing that "Challenged Scheme" to prevent 18- to 20-year-olds from carrying handguns or obtaining permits solely on the basis of age. The order was to be shared with district attorneys, sheriffs, and police chiefs. In 2025, Public Chapter 356 (HB 1332 / SB 1318) capitol.tn.gov/Bills/114/Ame… the statutory age for enhanced and concealed handgun carry permits under § 39-17-1351 to 18 (aligning the permit statutes with the settlement). It did not rewrite the age language in the permitless exception of § 39-17-1307(g), even though the Court ordered it so and the AG agreed. Once again half measures and failure to honor the Orders of Courts with respect to the Second Amendment Civil Rights in Tennessee.

The documents tell the story, the people must demand our rights!
When will the People stop letting their elected employees deny them their unalienable, natural right to bear arms as codified in the Second Amendment Tennessee's Declaration of Rights mandates that those right are sacrosanct and as the only entity that can generate statutes is the legislature, shouldn't they abide the tenants of that document? TCA 39-16-403. Official oppression. — (a) A public servant acting under color of office or employment commits an offense who: (1) Intentionally subjects another to mistreatment or to arrest, detention, stop, frisk, halt, search, seizure, dispossession, assessment or lien when the public servant knows the conduct is unlawful; or (2) Intentionally denies or impedes another in the exercise or enjoyment of any right, privilege, power or immunity, when the public servant knows the conduct is unlawful. (b) For purposes of this section, a public servant acts under color of office or employment if the public servant acts, or purports to act, in an official capacity or takes advantage of the actual or purported capacity. (c) An offense under this section is a Class E felony. (d) Charges for official oppression may be brought only by indictment, presentment or criminal information; provided, that nothing in this section shall deny a person from pursuing other criminal charges by affidavit of complaint. [Acts 1989, ch. 591, § 1; 1990, ch. 980, § 11.]

Last week a hero stopped a murderer and likely save several lives. But, would it be possible that the same hero doing the same thing in Tennessee could be criminally prosecuted? tennesseefirearms.com/2026/1…

Every Tennessee legislator knows what the Constitutions require with respect to all the black letter law civil rights of the People. As an aggregate they could care less...
Patrick Henry said "The great object is that every man be armed." He knew that all government morphs into tyranny left unchecked. Madison warned us to never let government get the upper hand, that to thwart tyranny, it takes an armed populace ready to defend Liberty! Or do I misunderstand the Revolution and the aftermath that spawned our Constitutions and Bill and Declarations of Rights? @regularguyguns @Guns_Gadgets @DainjaRuss33 @BrettRogersTX @TexasRepublic71 @TheAKGuy @CherylToddGFR @toddstarnes @CJGRISHAM @GunWashington

Tennessee has Armed Resource Officers in every public school, perhaps Oregon should consider that tact...
This young man, Kaylub Giamanco, father of two girls in the building at Silver Rail Elementary School in Ben, Oregon, by chance happened to be driving past when he spotted a gunman. He heard shots and retrieved his lawfully possessed and properly stored handgun and ran to the sound of gunfire. He did not wait for help or backup, he ran into danger to offensively confront a criminal who was murdering innocent children and their teachers. A very brave teacher threw her phone at the shooter and tried to tackle and wrest the shotgun from him, buying time but not successfully stopping the rampage. Mr. Giamanco threw something at him that did end it though, as was his absolute right. @regularguyguns @Guns_Gadgets @Hunter_Eagleman @HT_GunWriter @KenDBerryMD @TexasRepublic71 @TNHouseReps @CherylToddGFR @JohnPetrolino @GunWashington @fourboxesdiner

Any politician can claim to support the Second Amendment. Even those who want to restrict your rights can say it—and many do. But what happens when voters ask them to explain exactly what they mean? Do they support repealing Tennessee’s criminal “intent to go armed” law? Do they agree with the Supreme Court’s decision in Bruen? Where do they stand on Hughes v. Lee? TFA gave candidates the opportunity to answer 27 specific questions and participate in detailed interviews. Some answered. Many did not. If a candidate wants your vote but refuses to explain what constitutional rights they will actually defend, is that principled leadership—or just political marketing? Before you vote, find out who was willing to answer and who left voters guessing. tennesseefirearms.com/2026/1…

Detect no lies here...
The delegated powers (from the People) to their elected servants are few and defined (see the Tennessee Constitution, sos.tn.gov/publications/serv…) For those willing to take a few minutes to read and study the rule book of governance, that document lays out the fact the People are to be in charge and taxpayer funded servants are to follow the rules, paramount that civil rights be protected. Governor candidates that profess the ability to do everything but cure cancer are simply marketing lies if they promise actions not specified by Article III. @regularguyguns @DainjaRuss33 @2Aupdates @Guns_Gadgets @GunWashington @GunsofLiberty75 @TateAdamiak @HT_GunWriter @CherylToddGFR @jpr9954 @JohnPetrolino @fourboxesdiner @MorosKostas @BrettRogersTX @News2ATeam @AmmoLand @Hunter_Eagleman @TexasRepublic71 That stuff hitting your shoes is not rainwater...

Pericles said: "Just because you do not take an interest in politics, does not mean politics will not take and interest in you!"
The Constitutions are the roadmap for the Republic and the states; chains place by the People on government, not suggestions to be infringed. Tennessee has specific language in its Declaration of Rights, and if we as a People hold to our duty then WE are the true masters of the common good, not the legislature or government in general. Every entity of government, be it federal, state or local is required to support and protect the rights of the People. Legislatures at every level must be held to account, or tyranny rules instead of Liberty.
𝘔𝘤𝘋𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘥 and 𝘞𝘰𝘭𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘥 speak specifically to the issue that the Second Amendment is a national civil right that states cannot abrogate. @HT_GunWriter @DainjaRuss33 @regularguyguns @News2ATeam @AmmoLand @Guns_Gadgets @CherylToddGFR @GunWashington @fourboxesdiner @CJGRISHAM @2AFDN @MorosKostas @tnhousegop

39-17-1307 (a) makes it a crime to carry firearms (or sticks) with the intent to go armed, no mention of having to prove mens rea, simple possession of a firearm or a club IS the offense.
The 1796 Tennessee Constitution enumerated the right to keep and bear arms for the common defense, self-defense falls into that coverage. Yet the Tennessee legislature began infringeing that right in 1801 and has hammered down ever since.

This is not just related to the Federal Government, state legislatures are the holders of Liberty as well. It is obvious that Tennessee is not paying attention to the Supreme Court of the United States currently, and a ruling in favor of the Second Amendment can change with the death of a single Justice there. Our elected employees at the state level have as much or more say about how much of our unalienable rights we get to enjoy than the Feds.

The same applies to the Tennessee government, only the General Assembly can make or do away with law.

TFA is running a voluntary participation preference poll on the November race for governor. The poll remains active (link below). The poll has had a substantial number of participants - enough to start showing some patterns. Without detailing the status of the poll's results at this time, here are some interesting bits of information. 1) The poll asks participants to provide a political preference. There were no self-identified Democrats. About 10% identified as independent. Of the remaining approximate 90% the vast majority reflected primarily variations on Republican or GOP or MAGA. 2) Two candidates dominated the results so far with other candidates receiving 1% or less and the category of "other/write-in" receiving a trailing third of the total vote. 3) A Mason-Dixon Tennessee voter poll in January 2026 produced a result of 38% Republican, 27% Democratic, and 35% independent/other. An analysis of other polls in 2025 and 2026 indicated that the range of all voters identifying as something other than Republican in Tennessee was about 53–62%. 4) The TFA results suggests preferences within a population that heavily self-identifies as Republican. It contains very letter preference indication from the 53% to 62% that various polls categorize as non-Republicans. 5) Since the TFA voluntary poll is not indicating Democratic preferences or even preferences among an estimated large population of independents, what it it may be detecting is a large split in the population of those who self-identify as Republican or conservative and particularly those who are focused on 2nd Amendment issues. NOTE: A very few number of individuals have reported difficulty with taking the poll. It has been tested on Chrome, Firefox and Android. The software vendor suggests clearing the cache and reloading the page if you are having a problem. tennesseefirearms.com/tfa-20…

TFA has issued invitations to candidates for governor to do video interviews on 2nd Amendment issues in TN. The questions will be written and provided in advance. Who will participate? Depends perhaps on who wants to talk to Tennesseans.

Tennessee will be elected various office holders in November. Each voter has the discretion to vote as they determine without the shackles of someone mandating a choice that conflicts with their principles.
