Give yourself extra time to get around especially during school pickup and drop-off. Slow down, stay alert and give our children time and space to get on and off the bus. #SchoolBusSafetyWeek

(October 21 | 12:30pm CT) We are still gathering information, but at the request of the local emergency management agency, TEMA is assisting Overton County following a natural gas line explosion. The gas line has been shut off, and TEMA has deployed a District Coordinator to support the county and help address and coordinate any unmet needs. An evacuation order was issued as a precaution but has since been cancelled by Overton County Emergency Management Agency. Residents should continue to follow instructions from local officials as response efforts continue. We will share additional information as it becomes available.

📻 When the networks go down, HAM radio operators step up! We recently supported WCARES (Williamson County Amateur Radio Emergency Service) during its Simulated Emergency Test, preparing for a scenario in which cyberattacks disrupted internet, cell service and 911. Twenty volunteers deployed to five recreation centers and the Emergency Operations Center, handling 58 simulated emergencies using amateur radio communications. Exercises like this help strengthen our community’s ability to communicate and coordinate when traditional systems are unavailable. Thanks to WCARES and our @wc_parksandrec partners for helping keep Williamson County ready!

We're not quite done with the remnants of Isaias, as rain will continue into your Sunday morning. Unfortunately, temperatures will waste no time rebounding back into the 80s and low 90s after the rain stops. #TNwx #MiddleTNwx
