The problems from Mongolia stem mostly from 2 things – import prices spiked after Russia invaded Ukraine, & earlier in the year China blocked exports due to the Covid. The war caused CPI to jump to as high as 16.1% in June, and caused FX outflows as people paid for fuel imports.
