MG Tomahawk EV 69.2kWh Charging Curve at a 250A Charger 📈
⚡️ Peak Power: 111.5kW
🔋 Cells : LFP Prismatic ZEnergy likely
Time:
⏱️ 10–80%: 32 min
⏱️ 20–80%: 28 min
⏱️ 10–90%: 40 min
🔌 Demand voltage at 100%: 452V
Current tapering:
• 250A till 49%
• 241A at 50%
• 220A at 55%
• 200A at 61%
• 179A at 71%
The interesting part? - MG for some reason says 90kW peak & this battery pack is advertised as capable of 2C charging in other markets, suggesting it could potentially handle around 135kW. The car peaked at 111.5kW in this test, so there may be more headroom to explore.
We have also seen @BunnyPunia report 112kW at 68% SoC. Could the Tomahawk have a dynamic charging curve that varies depending on when it is plugged in, rather than following a fixed curve? Needs further testing.
The 90%+ charging data is particularly impressive:
🔋 91% - 45.4kW
🔋 95% - 39kW
🔋 99% - 25.7kW
More testing needed to understand its full charging potential.

Thanks @amoghpadhye for the detailed data.
745km same day trip in Kia EV6.
It's a really great car, but new sales are negligible now.
Did 745km in the EV6 yesterday - Bangalore - Shiggaon (near Hubballi) - Bangalore.
(Pic1) - Started 8.15am, reached by 1.15pm.
Drive back - Started by 5pm, stopped at Zeon Chitradurga for a 14 min charge from 2% - 48%.(Pic 2)
Back home by 10.45pm. (Pic 3).
Total drive: 745km, drive time: 11 hours 45min hours in total including charging break and traffic jams between Sira-Nelamangala on the return.
No drama, no fuss.
Fin.
What happened here?? 👀
A Mahindra BE6 79kWh arrived at a 120kW - 250A charger & things started off well.
🔋 Started at 30% SoC
⚡ Peak power: 111kW at 250A
📉 At 39%, the car suddenly dropped its current demand to just 100A, bringing charging power down to ~43kW.
And it never recovered!
Even more interesting, at 69% SoC, the car started reducing its current demand further, gradually dropping to just 76A by 74%.
⏱️ The car took 44 minutes to go from 30% to 74%.
Why did the charging power drop so dramatically at just 39% SoC, despite the charger being capable of supplying 250A?
This is not charger side fault as car is dropping the demand.

Incredible efficiency & quick power delivery make EVs very fun to drive. Charging infra is amazing, almost nothing was there at time of Kona in 2019.
640 km on a single charge in a Tesla Model YL AWD! 🔋⚡🤯
And no, this wasn't hypermiling!
🚘 Speeds as per traffic, touching 150 km/h at times
🔋 Still doing 100 km/h at just 1% SoC!
📱 Includes Sentry Mode and parked AC usage
Without the energy spent on Sentry and parked AC, it could have reached its WLTP rated range!
