The world just got its first trillionaire. At the same time, millions of people are struggling to get by and a generation is falling behind their parents. If that’s not a five-alarm fire, I don’t know what is.

“Arrest as many people that touch you as you want to," Gregory Bovino told Border Patrol officers in 2025. But a review of hundreds of such arrests shows that charges brought against protesters and bystanders repeatedly fell apart under scrutiny. propublica.org/article/caugh…

It’s another dangerously hot day in New York City. Temperatures will feel as high as 106, and we might see some scattered thunderstorms beginning this afternoon. Smoke from Canadian wildfires may also affect our air quality. Cooling centers are open and listed on finder.nyc.gov/coolingcenter…  Beaches and pools are open, with dozens of pools open as late as 8:30 p.m. Outreach workers are canvassing on foot and in COOL vans. If storms hit, head indoors and exercise caution when traveling. If wildfire smoke rolls in, know your risk and head to a cool indoor space with AC if you’re sensitive to air quality. If you see someone outside who needs help, call 311. If you or someone you know shows signs of heat illness, call 911. Look out for your neighbors.

I’m voting yes on @RepThomasMassie’s amendment to zero out all aid to Israel, including aid for offensive and defensive weapons like the Iron Dome. I cannot vote for aid to a country that committed genocide and has used tax dollars to detain Americans like me.

ICE shot and killed an 11th person this year, and we're only seven months into 2026. Every one of these deaths is a reminder that when immigrants are dehumanized, violence becomes easier to justify and harder to stop. This is exactly why our upcoming hearing before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights is so important. Our petition argues that the United States government has created a climate of discrimination and violence against Latinos, and immigrants more broadly, through racist rhetoric, discriminatory policies, and a failure to protect communities from hate-fueled attacks. Will the U.S. answer for its actions? Find out on August 6.
(1/3) There has been a 239% surge in anti-Latino hate crimes in the U.S. from 2015 to 2025. In 2008, Oswaldo Marcelo Lucero was murdered in a targeted assault against Latinos in Suffolk County, New York. 🧵

The House will vote on an amendment to cut off aid to Israel. It is unconscionable we continue to fund this genocidal apartheid regime. Voting YES.

No amount of training will ever bring back lives lost at the hands of a federal immigration agent with a gun. Already, new recruits skip training altogether so that Sec. Markwayne Mullin can dump masked agents onto our streets. Demand his resignation: OneDeathIsEnough.com

While you were figuring out how to pay rent, your president made $2.2 billion. While your groceries got more expensive, he was collecting $636M off a memecoin his own supporters lost money on. Who exactly is he working for? Not us.

The Strait of Hormuz was opened every single day of the eight years of the Obama administration. And we didn't have to bomb anyone to achieve that goal. Iran also never acquired a nuclear weapon in those 8 Obama years. And we didn't have to bomb anyone to achieve that goal.

🚨 Trump’s ICE Death Squads don’t just kill — they CREATE the kill shots. Masked agents ambush cars, spook drivers, then gun them down when they flee. Speeded-up videos, racial profiling, families forced to watch executions. Maine. Houston. Minnesota & more... while Trump golfs. This is state terror. Vote them out in November. ICE agents in Maine killed a father on his way to work yesterday: Joan Sebastian Guerrero, 26. The week before, agents in Houston killed Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, 52, a father of three. The Trump administration isn't returning America to a nostalgic past. It's plunging children and families into a horrific present.

THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE CLEAR: NO MORE U.S. AID TO ISRAEL Today, the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on an amendment introduced by Rep. Thomas Massie to cut the $3.3 billion in annual U.S. military aid to Israel. I strongly support this amendment. Israel, like any other country, had the right to defend itself against the horrific terrorist attack by Hamas on October 7, 2023, which killed 1,200 innocent people. But it did not have the right to go to war against the entire Palestinian population. It did not have the right to kill more than 73,000 Palestinians and wound over 173,000 more — the vast majority of them women, children and the elderly. It did not have the right to destroy virtually the entire infrastructure of Gaza — the schools, the health facilities, the water systems, wastewater plants, the electric grid that a civilian population depends on to survive. It did not have the right to destroy or damage 92% of all housing units in Gaza. In other words, Israel did not have the right to commit genocide. And it did not have the right to escalate its violence and annexation of the West Bank while the world's attention was focused elsewhere. Tragically, almost five months ago, Israel, with strong support from the Trump administration, launched a reckless and illegal war against Iran — a war that has killed thousands of people and left an already unstable region of the world even more unstable. That war expanded into Lebanon, where Israeli strikes have now killed more than 4,000 people and displaced some 20% of the entire Lebanese population. That is not "defending Israel". These are regional wars of expansion and terror, waged without a clear strategy, and without an end in sight. The American people are catching on. Polls show that nearly three-quarters of Democratic voters now oppose sending military aid to Israel, as do more than one-third of Republican voters. Just 16% of all Americans support giving Israel unconditional aid. And I am proud that this past April, 40 out of 47 Senate Democrats — a record number — supported my bill to block arms sales to the far-right, extremist Netanyahu government. We have enormous unmet needs in our own country. Today, while 60% of our people are living paycheck to paycheck, tens of millions of Americans cannot afford housing, healthcare, childcare and other basic needs. Congress must focus on the needs of their constituents, not an Israeli government that is undermining American values. I urge my colleagues in the House to vote yes on the Massie amendment.

Joan Sebastian Guerrero should still be alive. This is the second time in a week that ICE agents have killed someone who — by their own admission — was not the subject of their operation. Now Sebastian is dead, his killing witnessed by his three-year-old daughter wearing her Bluey pajamas. This cannot be acceptable in America. There must be an immediate, independent, and transparent investigation. Anyone responsible for wrongdoing must be held accountable.
