If, like me, you are fascinated by the history of theory and research on reading, this brilliant journal article is for you. If you just want the moral of the story, itโs please stop using running records for assessing reading. They are based on disproven theory and flawed research. There are many better options.

Once again, matching teaching to learning styles has near-zero impact on student achievement. I've noticed a resurgence of the learning styles myth recently so this new study is timely. ๐งต โฌ๏ธ
