Testing career growth.
Beginner: Find the bugs yourself.
Intermediate: Use tools to find the bugs.
Advanced: Build tools to find the bugs.
Master: Influence the system to prevent the bugs.
I just don't care.
We're playing confirmed cheats, so this is a non-game.
The sooner they're fired into the sun, the better.

Fixture 1.
#LFC
Yep.
Been there.
Expected to be lauded like the Testing Hero I am.
You discovered the pesky bug and captured it before, that's right, 𝘽𝙀𝙁𝙊𝙍𝙀 our beloved customers got anywhere near it!
You're a legend right?
WRONG!
Weeeeelllll perhaps it's not as simple as that.
Here's why: Folks aren't mad at you. They're mad at the bug.
Because it comes wrapped in consequences.
We're talking any or all of these:
∙Delays
∙Rework
∙Hard conversations
∙Blame (sometimes)
...and maybe more besides 😩
But this is the real value of testing:
Revealing what’s uncomfortable, before it becomes catastrophic, God willing.
So no, you’re not the villain (although it might feel like it).
You’re the one who turned a silent failure into a visible one.
And visibility is the first step to fixing it.

Someone's talking to your customer...
It's that incy wincy piece of content posted yesterday.
That thought provoking insight -
Living rent free in your customers head that your competitor posted.
It's gather momentum now...
Being shared and reposted. But most importantly -
Your customer's researching your competitor.
Why? Because:
• Good content gets attention.
• Great content gets engagement.
• Ground-breaking content seeds ideas.
In a dynamic market, your ability to surface value is a must.
And if you don't...
Don't be surprised if 'that' loyal customers churns.

This blog articulates exactly what I was describing in the podcast (and has given me a few more posts to read & re-read yoo 😃).
Thanks @qahiccupps 🙏🏾
Simultaneously embarrassing and flattering to have my work called out on a podcast, but I *do* love making just enough tooling to answer the questions I have. @TesterFromLeic @FriendlyTester
