"Voters are revolting against high energy prices across the country, and Republicans are taking most of the blame as the party in power in Washington. But an under-reported story is that Democrats are on defense in the Northeast, where utility bills have spiked because of green energy mandates and progressive hostility to fossil fuels. It’s about time." @WSJopinion

This is a big year for emissions regulation policy, even as we await the release of the reworked methane rule by the Trump EPA. This is why we are excited to announce that James D. Elliott, founder of E Three Law, PLLC, will speak at our Upstream Policy Conference (Nov. 9–10, The Crescent Hotel, Fort Worth). Elliott is an environmental & energy attorney with nearly three decades of experience advising the oil & natural gas industry on federal air & methane regulations. His presentation to our fall conference could not be more timely.

Founder & CEO of @KingOperatingTX, @JayRYoungtx: "I can tell you, after three decades of doing this alongside families, retirees, and business owners across the country, is that the risk is manageable when the fundamentals are respected, and the rewards for respecting them have been real for a great many of the people who trusted us with their capital."

🚨Venture Global has seen the future for powering data centers, and it is natural gas.
@VentureGlobal just placed a big bet that the massive campaign to halt #AI data center expansion – funded and organized by leftwing billionaires and #China – will fail.
While activists and their deep-pocketed backers file lawsuits, push grid interconnection delays, and amplify “AI will boil the oceans” narratives, one of America’s fastest-growing LNG exporters is moving full speed ahead.
Venture Global just signed major frame agreements with GE Vernova and Baker Hughes covering up to 16 new gas-fired power islands - roughly 11.5 GW of capacity - that could support as much as 10 GW of AI computing by the end of 2034.
Key points:
◾️These are behind-the-meter, island-mode plants. No reliance on the public #grid, no extra burden on ratepayers, and no waiting years for transmission upgrades that local opposition often blocks.
◾️The company is leveraging the same modular gas-fired approach it already uses to power its own #LNG facilities (about 4.5 GW today). It expects to order the first power island by the end of 2026.
◾️This is a direct response to real, near-term demand from hyperscalers who need reliable 24/7 power now, not intermittent renewable projects that still require massive backup and new wires.
◾️Opposition campaigns have delayed or canceled some data center and generation projects, especially in blue states. They have not stopped the overall buildout.
◾️Companies with capital, land, and gas supply are simply routing around the roadblocks while satisfying public concerns up front with proper mitigations.
Venture Global’s move is a clear market signal: the AI power boom is not waiting for perfect green solutions or unanimous political approval. It is being met with dispatchable natural gas because that is what actually works at scale and on the timelines tech companies require.
The billionaires and foreign-funded groups trying to throttle it may slow a few projects, but they are not stopping the sector.

"Permian Basin crude oil production has grown from under a million barrels per day in 2010 to a staggering 6.8 million barrels per day in 2026. Production in the region is poised to continue to grow, but that potential is already being hampered by a lack of electricity." @karringham, Alliance President & Petroleum Economist, in an op-ed about the need for the Permian Basin Reliability Plan.

𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻. The Senate's permitting reform proposal is a practical compromise that will unlock investment, strengthen energy security, and accelerate the buildout of infrastructure needed to meet growing energy demand. It's time to move from debate to building.
The Washington Post Editorial Board highlights the importance of acting on permitting reform now ➡️
"Lawmakers may not like everything in the bill, but waiting for the perfect permitting reform package is a recipe for inaction and economic stagnation," the Editorial Board writes. wapo.st/3VEZn4s
