An inconsistent Twitterer. Sorry. I'm trying. Writing #crimefiction, working in #IT, & raising creative children. Always busy, sometimes productive. She/her.

I didn't Twitter yesterday.
I sat down at the computer to find a family photo my son needed for class, & got sucked into a vortex of sweet nostalgia, brought on by images of past adventures with my ridiculously cute kids. I barely escaped before midnight.
I didn't Twitter yesterday.
I could have, but I used that time to stand in front of the aquarium & stare at the fish while I listened to a podcast about productivity. It was nice.
My Cream Legbar laid that little egg in a random corner of the coop instead of the nesting boxes. Almost like it slipped out when she wasn't expecting it. 😊

New French word: Yaourt
I will be repeating this until the end of time, or until my stupid mouth figures or how to pronounce it correctly, whichever comes first.

Look at these beautiful dino-themed coasters my kiddos made for me! I love it when they work together to create! Middle schoolers rock!

Today was the first day I attended my new online ADHD writer's club. It's been so long since I had a group like that, I forgot how good for me it is! It's been a long time since I packed so much productivity into such a short time!
Wood stove is having issues, so I've been wearing my coat in the house. Seems logical to me, but my husband suspects a passive-aggressive plot to turn up the electric heat.
Do I seem that high-maintenance? It's temporary. I can handle this for a few days.
14yo: I always try to be extra nice to Mrs. L.
Me: Is she your favorite teacher?
14yo: No, she's just the most dead inside of all my teachers, so I don't want to make it worse.

I'm composing a shout-out to my daughter, for inclusion in the program for the school play. Knowing her... 🤔
✔️ Option 1: Generic encouragement
✖️ Option 2: Funny but possibly embarrassing.
Some sneaky critter has emptied my bird feeder every night for the past 3. I'd say this is a good excuse to get a trail cam.

Have you ever had a truly amazing writing group?
In my SLC years, I met with a group at the @KingsEnglish bookstore. Can't tell you how much I loved those writer friends, & how they inspired me. It's been years & I've lost touch, but I still think of them & miss them like crazy.
It's an ice sheet out there today. I'm working from home & watching the birds.

My editorial team at @PsychCentral is looking to expand the freelance writer pool to include more BIPOC, male, and LGBTQ+ writers.

Trying to explain world events & politics to the kids, in a way that they'll be reasonably informed but not freaked out.
It's not easy, but what a luxury. We have time & space to talk through things in safety. Many families don't.
My kids discovered the paintings I did back in high school.
"These are really good, Mom! I love this one with the cool rock!"
It's a horse, folks.
Today I'll be doing revisions during my ENTIRE lunch hour.
(Still a few hours away, but if it's on Twitter, it's an iron-clad commitment, right?)
